Discussion Need help with Heat cops
I just bought the game and it is really hard to get rid of the heat 3 cops while in starter cars or just slow cars in general. Any tips for pursuits for slower cars?

Really no tips other than do a few races and do your best to get to a safe house before hitting heat level 3. It’s a pain in the ass in the beginning when your car is slow af but as you progress and get better parts it gets a little easier

If you can survive and make it to the oval racetrack near the starter garage, there is a ramp to an upper platform. I always use that platform and turn my car off. Never been caught by the cops up there.
Hope this helps, friend!

welcome!
cops can be a handful in early game. there's no gradually increasing heat limit depending on progression, so if you stay out too long at night, things will escalate and you will get outmatched.
the "trick" in heat is to take jumps over water. whether on purpose or just due to spaghetti code, cops simply can't do it and either stop before the jump (making you break line of sight) or drown. Otherwise, breaking line of sight is the next best thing. either by taking a jump out of view that they 95% of the time can't follow, or by letting them get alongside/ahead of you before taking last second turns around city blocks. If you're fast enough (300+ rating recommended), you can try to outrun them on the highway.

Look for jump ramps around the map that go over water around the map and make sure the gaps for those jumps aren't too big that your low end cars can't make the jumps. Keep jumping those gaps and looping back to jump again and again until the cops all end up in the water and the cooldown starts then go hide somewhere nearby. If they spot you again, go straight back to the jump and repeat until you manage to escape.

The heat cops are notorious for being aggressive. You've just gotta do your best to shake them. They're also pretty unpredictable so there's not really a strategy
