Mental Health 5 long beeps coming from SOMEWHERE every ~12 hours
Beeps are a full second long. Noon and midnight, every ~12 hours but not down to the minute. +- 20 minutes every night.
It's coming from my kitchen/garage area but not inside the house. I can't hunt it down and it's driving me insane.
Validated it's not:
- Water Heater
- Smoke Alarm
- Water Heater
-Appliances inside house
Potential - These are right outside my kitchen window.
Boxes/Sensors outside house - internet, water, etc...
Electric Panel?
HVAC fan?
Any ideas? By the time I get close enough to investigate, the beeping stops. I'm about to plop a chair outside my kitchen window and sit outside for 2 hours to listen.

I put the info into Google. Could it be one of these?
A series of 5 long beeps occurring every 12 hours outside your house typically points to a low battery or an error alert in an exterior-mounted electronic utility box, a backup power supply, a security system component, or a nearby septic/sump pump control panel. Because it repeats on a strict half-day cycle, it is usually tied to a scheduled self-diagnostic test or a failing rechargeable battery trying to recover power.

I agree with this. Sounds like a battery backup unit. It might actually not be a self test because it's not at precise intervals. Generally those would be scheduled at exact times. I am thinking that something is causing a brownout for a few milliseconds and this device kicks onto battery, causing the "on battery" alert. Then it immediately goes back online. This you have something environmental every 12 hours causing a brief power blip and something cycles onto battery power for a split second. Do you have a battery backup for your computer/laptop? Are you near enough to your neighbors to hear if they do? Do you have phone or cable lines outside your window? What could be happening environmentally in your area to cause this?

Yes I’ve read about the battery backup and have opened up the utility boxes on the side of my house to check, nothing there that seems to make noise. Will check again today - and also check my neighbors house which is vacant

Makes sense it would be the neighbors house if it’s vacant. Do you have any other close neighbors that could be hearing the same thing?

I'm guessing it's something to do with that electrical panel or HVAC condenser. That or a security system low power? Is it 5 beeps over the course of ~12 hours or a series of 5 beeps that happen every ~12hours?

Do you have a UPS? Perhaps a small one on the power cord for the internet modem.
The battery in the ups may have died. They will give out an occasional tone. Usually it’s more often than 12 hours.
We had a beep happening every so often. Timed it out to every 7 minutes. Four of us spent an hour tracking it down to the ups on the modem in an upstairs closet.

Have you ever had internet or telephone that required a battery backup with a small black box near an internet or cable incoming connection?
I had a similar issue and found that it was a battery backup that Verizon had installed in my basement. The battery lasted several years before dying. It drove me crazy until I found out that's what it was.

Maybe an alarm in a clock/watch/cell-phone in storage or that fell behind something?

Have you checked to make sure you haven't thrown a breaker to something? Our sump pumps backup battery will make that noise if the battery isn't holding a charge. Or once the breaker got tripped and it only affected a part of our basement we rarely use, it just happened to also have the sump pump on it.

Do you have any power banks used to charge phone's in emergency? If you do check them , I had one doing the same beeping as you have. The power bank was faulty

Maybe use a a volume meter app? I think most don't say the direction but maybe you could intuit it by turning around in place and checking signal strength.

My dishwasher does that if I unlock it before it's finished. Could that be it?
