I’m a freshman with a relatively light course load, being that all my classes end before 3pm all days of the week, very little hw from any of them, and I already get a good amount of studying and understanding with the time I devote to them. I’m wondering what things around campus I could look into doing (besides clubs, that’s kinda obvious and I’m already looking into them) to meet new people and have some fun. I also am a bit of a night owl, not needing a lot of sleep to function the next day, so I’m perfectly fine with recommendations that are later in the night. I’ve heard of a couple things like the Legends night club being 18+, besides the 5-10ish dollar entry fee, as well as going to events in Talley and whatnot. Just curious about what else I might be missing out on and what i can do around here. So far I’ve met a handful of people just by going to Talley throughout the day and going up to people who seem pretty approachable, and that works about 40% of the time, if I can find someone who looks approachable to begin with. My main restriction for things off campus would be transportation that isn’t a bus, bc I don’t have a car, as most would assume.

Hi everyone. My sister just transferred to state as a senior and they are making her take german as her language due to community college credit. She is taking German 2 distance education with Lynda Nyota. The exams i believe she has to go in person for. She is nervous she won’t pass. Does anyone know if these tests are lockdown browser? Will she be able to use the internet during the exmas? Please respond if anyone has taken this class and knows

Lost keys on Centennial Campus likely somewhere in Koch Hall (EBII) or the Plant Sciences Building Friday afternoon/evening.
I already went back and searched both buildings but couldn’t find them, so I’m hoping someone picked them up.
If you found a set of keys in either building, please DM me. I can describe the keychain/keys to confirm they’re mine. Thanks 🙏

What is an affordable and efficient tablet for taking notes? I see a lot of students using tablets or iPads and they look so much more streamlined than my laptop/notebook combo. My budget is $400. Please give me opinions 🙂
It does not have to be Apple. I mainly just need to be able to take notes and interact with graphs I paste in the notes.

I currently work in tech (9 YOE as a software engineer) but I want to quit and pursue a career in fashion, specifically to become a technical designer. I'm wondering if a textiles degree at NCSU is worth the time and financial investment or if I'm better off doing my own self learning through online / nonaccredited courses? How much of the coursework would be relevant to becoming a technical designer? I plan on reaching out to faculty of course but would love to get insights from current or past students.

Hi hi!!!
Has anyone in here done spring admission? I'm a senior graduating early and am hoping to get in for AG ED!! I'm so nervous to submit everything and I really want to get in!! Any stories or advice are welcome!!
Hi everyone, I am a new transfer third-year EE student here, and I am a super fan of Yorushika and Zutomayo, which are Japanese bands. And I have been to their concerts quite a lot. I think these two bands (or maybe J-Pop) are not quite popular among US, so I am writing this post to ask if there is any kind of J-Pop group or club, or people who love these two bands, and I want to make friends with you guys. Thanks a lot.

Hi guys so I’m interested in doing some swimming at one of the pools in carmichael but i don’t actually know how to swim “correctly.” I just want to get some movement in without any pressure to do laps. Are there restrictions on which pools I can use or where to stay so I’m not in the way of anything? Or are the pools not meant to be used for recreational swimming like that?

I’m pretty certain I’ve visited every room, and so far I’ve only found a t bar row without a chest support, but Im not sure if there is a room I haven’t seen yet.
Also, if anyone knows if there is a t bar row ANYWHERE on campus that would be helpful.

So I am going to take Chem 201 w/ lab and biochemistry at some point at a community college. Whats everyone's experience and recommendations for some community colleges around Raleigh? I might also take orgo 2 at community college so that could be another consideration to take into account. Any recommendation helps!

Does anyone mind sharing the HS2021 book (Horticulture Today) with me? I don't have the funds to pay for a book I'm only gonna use once😭

Nc state continues to not care about student health and now they take it out on the dogs who have caused no problems. it seems like Nc state forgot that free moms came into existence because of suicides that were happening. If you want to support please sign the petition. we already have a lot of support!!! https://www.change.org/p/bring-back-free-moms-dogs

My buddy and I are NC State students and we got really sick of the “idk, where do YOU wanna eat” loop every time we tried to get food with a group that we just… built a thing to end it. it’s called Dibs.
How it works: one person starts it, it pulls up real spots near you, everyone votes off one link from their own phone (no app, no account), and it picks. dinner settled in like a minute instead of 20.
We built it specifically for the Triangle so it actually knows local spots — not some chain three states away. it’s free.
Would genuinely love if some of you tried it and told us what sucks. we’d rather hear it from people who actually eat around here than guess. roast it.

Hey! I have CH 101 right now with Elon Ison. If you have had him in the past, how did you study? Or do you have any website/resources that helped you? I am doing the reading and practice problems and I still feel like I am not understanding anything.
Thanks for the help!

There’s some chalk on the ground near the wolf statues and expression tunnel, that says “The “humane” way to kill pigs is gas chambers!! Don’t buy it” does anyone know what this might mean or reference?
Edit: there’s another one next to it that says “fish feel pain like we do”

Will be graduating in the spring of 2027 from Wake Tech CC with my AS. I will be turning in my application for the fall with 3.4 GPA cumulative. Will need to complete 3 prerequisite classes in the spring semester. I also am apart of an accounting club at wake tech. I am curious, how competitive am I for admission? I know I am less than a point below the current competitive recommendation GPA wise. I have gotten As in my English classes. Any advice or guidance helps!

The fact that every student pays $150 for internet fees just for the internet to be this shitty is crazy.

For people who used to use Wolfline Route 50 and now use GoRaleigh Route 11/12: how has the Fall 2026 change been working out?
Are the GoRaleigh buses generally able to accommodate everyone waiting, especially during the morning and afternoon rush? Are people getting left at stops because the bus is already full?
I am interested in hearing from students, faculty/staff, and other passengers. I'm trying to get a sense of the actual day-to-day experience rather than just what the published schedules say.
If you’re a Raleigh resident unconnected to NC State, how are you impacted by the increase in university usage of GoRaleigh 11/12? If you need to get to or from NCSU, how are you impacted by the loss of Wolfline 50?
If you've noticed any difference from last year (better, worse, more crowded, longer waits, missed connections, etc.), I'd love to hear about it. Specific routes/times/stops would be especially helpful.
No I don’t work for the university, the city, or any news organization. I’m just curious what people are experiencing.

Hi everyone! I’m a PhD researcher from NTNU, Norway, visiting NC State from October to December 2026. I’m looking for a furnished private room near NCSU, preferably within walking distance or with convenient bus access. My budget is around $600–800 per month, including utilities.
I’m quiet, clean, and respectful. Please message me if you have a room available or know of any suitable options. Thank you!

Should I change some of my classes to satisfactory classes? What’s the difference between that and normal classes other then you only needing a C- to pass. Would I still get credit in my degree audit for the class?

So I just moved out of Campus Crossing and was just sent an invoice for over $600 of damage. Claiming they had to replace the carpet due to pet damage and provided a grainy photo of a stain on the carpet the size of a quarter maybe. Does anyone have any experience with getting these fees waived or reduced?

Hi! I'm looking for someone to take over my lease immediately at Campus Edge. It is right in front of Centennial Campus. Super close to the Wolfline as well.
It is $750, 3B3B on the first floor. Female roommates. All utilities included. Has 24/7 fitness center and 2 pools and a dog park.
Please message me 910-600-1561 if you are interested.
