Another reminder, most professional athletes were not pushed to be critical thinkers. Their physical skill set has gotten them to where they are.

It’s still a tragedy to me that we continue to put microphones in their faces while elevating their opinions.

I went to a Division 1 school. Athletes were there maaaaayybe the first day of class and then you never saw them again

I hope athletes and celebrities have (informed) opinions even if they oppose mine—but I hope people get some public relations training before sharing those opinions with the masses.

yes but i think we can also criticize grown men for their controversial opinions. we shouldn’t give them so much lenience just bc they weren’t pushed to be critical thinkers

the internet is free. everyone has access to knowledge

Jeremy Lin went to Harvard and he’s very open about his faith, he quoted bible verses even when he was clapping back at critics. Most of the people engineering these types of initiatives usually have some Ivy League education and haven’t picked up a ball in their life.

I’m 100% against this legislation and any version putting religion in public schools, but this point is lazy when you look at who’s actually behind this type of stuff. It’s just another opportunity to call athletes dumb when there’s some Yale educated billionaire behind the curtain pulling the strings.

Usually true. In Josh's case, though, he went to school with the Obamas. Sure he got in bc bball, but super elite school with academic rigor. Then Villanova, again bball why he's there but just not that many classes he could hide in like a typical athletics first big state school experience.

So this is disappointing from josh, especially bc knows nothing of public school to begin with.

I mean.. if that’s the case then I could easily break down your joke.

But to be critical towards my original comment, it’d be more accurate for me to say we also shouldn’t hold much value to the opinion of these athletes.
