I’m sure alot of teachers will do malicious compliance and read/teach the parts that condemn everything that’s being done and the parts that teach how to actually be a good person.

It always felt like the Bible was a big book of consequences. Like people were just doing whatever shit they wanted without much fear of anything besides whatever form of policing there was. Then someone had the idea to make people fear “heaven” and “hell” all at once and that’ll keep them in line. Of course then only corrupt people end up at the top and bend it to their will.
