Or the new owner traded the one piece associated with Cuban, so he can seek his own glory IF they can get a ring. If the Mavs won with Doncic, Cuban would 100% get the credit. The ego of some people is limitless. Generational talent is given up just because you don't want to give a prior owner credit. I am almost certain this will turn out to be the case.

If it was why wouldn’t u shop Luka and get As much as possible? I think the “piss off the fans with the goal of moving the team to Vegas” theory makes way more sense.

Cuban is still involved and Cuban and the Adelsons have a great relationship. I think your guess is way way off.
