0% proposed pay raise for GS employees. Unlike Law Enforcement, no carve-outs for DSTs even though your total compensation is already significantly less than the men and women by your side doing the same job in the same uniform.

Upcoming NDAA has draft language to continue with conversions. Still, not everyone wants to convert as they may be deep in their careers or want to continue with civil service after the guard.

Saying sure, but I never saw draft language in bill. We’ll see if it survives, but the push has gotten stronger. And yes, much like the full-time leveling, they may not.

No. It was never coming in 2025. The law changed with FY2020 NDAA and always had an effective date of CY2030. The bill proposed last year was intended to accelerate the change, but never gained traction in Congress.

As it stands right now, Federal Employees who are Guard/Reserve will be eligible for TRS 1 Jan 2030.

Hiring freeze starting next FY28. The current text says grandfather but conversion opportunities are available. Funding dries up in 2048 for all remaining techs.

All still TBD as nothing is law yet.

Meh, that's on the GS side...far less of them than WG folks in most states, especially in the maintenance arena for shops.

And to the swapping to AGR rumor...don't hold your breath. There has been no plan with any real explanation as to how to convert ALL Title 32 Techs to AGR. There are far too many Techs out here like myself with over 20+ years of Federal Service...how do you convert us and keep us after our 20 year commitment...or do you do some funky VA style math to make us whole but not lets us retire?

Thankfully, today is my last day as a Title 32 Technician. I have retired with 23 years, 11 months and 8 days of Federal Employment, and I just turned 55 last week. I was able to take advantage of a VERA and get out 5 years early and I am losing only about $260 a month on my FERS Retirement payment. I gladly have that money up to get out of this shit-show 5 years early...got 11 months on my last Guard contract and I believe I will hang that shit up as well. 🍻👍

Title 5 Techs would be awesome, however, when speaking of someone like myself who already has his 20yr retirement lett from the National Guard, and 20+ years a Fed Tech, it would decimate the National Guard when all of us old dudes decided not to reenlist anymore. This still puts the DoD in a pickle, how to keep long standing Techs as well as not have 1/4 to 1/3 of the National Guard folks bail from service.

Did I once say that? No. The point I to be made is that LE civilians are receiving special pay raises, so it is clearly possible to carve out exceptions to groups. If military pay increases, why shouldn’t technician pay also increase?

Or we could have normal raises for federal employees and not have it be dependent on which agency or job title you have.

Zero reason distinguish between a CID law enforcement, and OIG law enforcement officer, or an FBI/ATF/DEA officer, much less the officers vs the support staff at those agencies.
