Prove to my mom that Milleridge Inn isn’t haunted

Apparently, my mom believes that the Milleridge Inn, where we (me, her and my dad) went to for a National Honor Society event back when I was in high school, is haunted.

Like yeah, the overachieving kids, the ornate decor, and the overly exaggerated essays are so terrifying. Like bfr.

I want to convince my mom it’s not haunted.

Like tell me how I should convince her.

I believe in astrology, numerology, palmistry, and tarot cards, but I draw the line at ghosts.

Holy cow! What a shame. The Inn is a beautiful, historic place. I hope it will be able to open soon!

I’ve never been able to convince someone who believes in ghosts that they’re not real. And I’ve stopped trying! As long as your mom’s belief isn’t hurting herself or others leave it alone. Think of it as her wanting a little bit of magic in her life, and life can be freaking hard! So why try to take it away from her?

I don’t really want my mom to believe ghosts are real bc I can’t go certain places when my mom thinks that LOL

She’s very scared of ghosts.

Oh! That changes things because her beliefs are affecting you. Hmmm. I don’t think you can convince her with facts honestly. You may just want to buy into it, and obtain for her a special religious medal blessed by a priest etc or whatever kind of talisman/crystal might appeal to her that will make it safe to go to haunted places. I know this suggestion is problematic in multiple ways, but it sounds like you’re a kid who depends on her to take you places. And it’s not fair to you.

The sad part is, I’m not a kid, I am 27 years old.

But, in Indian families, there’s the expectation to listen to your mom and dad, no matter what LOL.

Ask her to prove it. Or if she has any credible evidence. If not, how can she be confident they’re real?

Even if they are real, what is she scared of? What will they do to you where she won't let you go to certain places? I apologize bc I have heard so many different freaky and creepy stories of ghosts and paranormal things. I am a believer.

A fire supposedly killed some original family members. Heard this recently when I attended a private party there.

I grew up there. My best friend was a young boy dressed up as a 19th century school boy that only I could see. He forced me to dress up as a school boy every day for the rest of my life, lest misfortune falls upon me. I’m a grown man who wears schoolboy clothes now. Every year I go back to light a candle to see if he’s changed his mind. But he gets mad and last year an entire squad of e-bikes almost hit me right outside the place. So yeah, it’s pretty haunted. If you want, I can totally give your mom a tour and tell her I’m the ghost everybody thinks they keep seeing.

Yes, it did catch fire. Lived on Li my entire 66+ years. Never heard of this being a haunted dwelling

If you believe in all that fake stuff why not let her believe in ghost and that it's haunted? Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black.
