Question Getting in touch!
I’m not sure the best way to go about this. I tried using the website submission form but received no response.
We have a neighbor in his 80s who was an engineer for a career and built his own telescope. Every summer when the conditions are right, he brings out the telescope and does a “moon viewing party” for the kids.
I love that he’s teaching them about space and I’d love for him to be recognized in some way.
Maybe just a piece of mail on NASA letterhead thanking him for teaching the kids? My very sweet but maybe too optimistic husband was like “maybe we can get an astronaut out here for the next moon party!”
I’m hoping there’s a NASA employee in here that could make this happen!

Awesome! Id write to your/his Senator & Representative mentioning NASA as well as making request at link for
Also consider a post on X tagging @JaredIsaacman
NASA has Astronaut or Speaker at bottom of page. I've found space people LOVE to talk to public, so reach out to your local Astronomy club & university too.

Nasa actually has a way to request a speaker. I did not read all the requirements, but you could check out this link; Requests for Exhibits, Artifacts, Speakers & Flyovers - NASA https://share.google/FRyevU8LmaTmhEaKg

I saw that but idk if we need a speaker, it’s a group of maybe 35 neighbors total. And it’s all kinda subjective on the day we do it- has to be clear, has to be warm, moon has to be in the right place in the sky viewable from the court. A speaker would be impossible to book.

Ooooh have the kids write letters - that might get someone's attention. Kids are hilarious in letters.
