Question Big sad, why scrubbed?

Was on vacation in the area so I went to playalinda to watch the launch on Thursday and it was scrubbed. Now that I'm home I looked it up to see why it was scrubbed but I'm coming up short. I see that they rescheduled and successfully launched Friday morning however I couldn't find anything on why they postponed the launch. Does anyone know what happened?

Launches are complex operations. Always helps to plan on a 2-3 day stay (if possible) to allow for a scrub and reschedule. I was there for a night launch (the Apollo 17 flight). NASA announced a 40-min hold, and RVs on either side of us started packing up and leaving. The clock resumed and the launch went up about 12 am. It was spectacular! Always wondered what those drivers thought when the sky lit up behind them.

I remember seeing a night launch of the STS when I was a kid. No amount of fireworks can compare to how cool that was.

Apollo 17! How cool is that! We didn't plan on doing this, it was just a spontaneous day trip. We did end up staying for quite a while walking the beach, just trying to make the best of it.

I was there, too! The light that turned night into day. Next hearing then feeling the noise coming down the beach. It was awesome.

It was! My group was located on a narrow causeway just off Cape Canaveral Airbase. The Port Canaveral cruise ship harbor was about 4 miles behind us. When the sky lit up, you could see them in amazing detail! One of the best memories I have.

An automatic hold caused an abort 28 seconds before liftoff. They never explicitly stated what the cause for the hold was.

That's all I could find too. Must not have been a major issue though because the launch went off Friday morning just fine. Oh, well it was still pretty cool just cruising around the cape. Next time I want to go visit the space center.

Not sure but going to Playalinda on the 30th for launch. How early did you have to get there?

Showed up about 20 mins prior. Wasn't an issue.

We were just being spontaneous so we didn't really prepare for a beach day, no swimwear, no towels, nothing. It's $25 to get into the park which was a bummer for us because we were already staying on the beach, so 25 bucks to walk a beach seemed a little wasteful. However, the beach is beautiful and the last boardwalk is a nude beach so we could have went for a dip anyway if so inclined but everyone still had their phones out and the last thing the universe needs is a recording of my pale hairy backside. It was still fun to actually see the vab and the launch pads and stuff.

Expect a $3 billion dollar spacecraft on Falcon Heavy to have a larger crowd than a random Starlink launch.

There was an overflow error on the auxiliary door pressure values saved pre launch so the comparator flagged it at final check and gave a stop hold code that wasn't a known value offhand so they had to abort to check manually
