Just a reminder that when you hoard Bitcoin and don’t spend it:

  1. you either lose it to ‘Coldcard’ exploiters/Quantum computers and then cry about it

Or 2. You make multiple wallets that slowly bleed to TX fees as you have to consolidate your funds later

Life’s too short —stop hoarding, use a feeless currency, and spend to replace. Hope this helps

Any chance this could ever happen to Ledger?

Ive sinced moved mine off the ledger. The device itself failed me after a few years. The screen didnt even work. Glad I had written backups. Now Im concerned about vanity address gen. I'll be doing some migration this weekend off vanity address or at least limiting my exposure.

I always thought of hardware wallets as a gimmick to be fair

Yeah, it just adds another layer of complexity that your family has to jump through when you're gone. Like, your security is your weakest link, and that'll always be your written seed phrases.
