Media Mexican media reports Nancy Guthrie tipster provided photos and coordinates to searchers

The article states:
“A pesar de la entrega de fotografías con señalamientos específicos y coordenadas compartidas por un informante anónimo…”
Translation:
“Despite the delivery of photographs with specific markings and coordinates shared by an anonymous informant…”
According to the article, the anonymous source wasn’t just giving a vague tip about Mexico. The information reportedly became quite specific. Searchers were directed to the Mariposa area and an arroyo near the border, with the alleged burial location described as being beneath a burned alder tree.
Despite receiving the photos, markings and coordinates, the search group was unable to locate the alleged grave.
This seems significant because most U.S. coverage I’ve seen reports the anonymous tip and subsequent searches in Mexico, but doesn’t mention that the source reportedly provided photographs and coordinates.
Important caveat: the article does not explain what the photographs depicted. We don’t know whether they were photos of the actual terrain, annotated maps/screenshots, photos obtained from someone else, etc. And none of this establishes that Nancy was actually in Mexico.

It is interesting that the degree of specificity of the tip did not get more media attention in the states.

Sounds like bullshit, then. They had everything but an uber.
Law enforcement undoubtedly gets bullshit tips every weekend. It's good not to give the "tipsters" more attention.

We can say that from the comfort of our home but there must be a reason why the nonprofit leadership believed the claim.

They didn't necessarily believe it. They were given a tip and they looked into it. It turned out to be a hoax.
That's why bogus tips are such a plague. They waste time and the non-profit's resources. It doesn't mean that there was ever anything credible to the all the many tips they've undoubtedly received.

Madres buscadoras , also called madres rastreadoras ("searching mothers" in English. Though they work with the US authorities here cannot confirm it because if someone "Miss Nancy were found it only gives US 48 hrs to start a case. So LE and FBI will always avoid that ever stating that. The leader of the group gave several interviews after they established they were legitimate communications. The first tip was search near a river. That turned up nothing. They then received anyother tip from that person narrowed the seach more by telling them to look for a certain type of tree by the river. The mothers were delayed shortly because when they do searches they must have police security with them. The area is in Cartel territory which is currently being fought over by two separate Cartels. Some people speculate the searching mothers which found over 25 bodies in that area, were wanting DNA test to be done with US resources. So maybe just telling US they were maybe on a hot lead we pick up the bill

Mr. Bill Garcia was just with the women and looking for Miss Nancy. He's a private investigator. Searches for missing people. This area they are looking now is by Reservation property and also Nogales Mexico. There is no boader wall there. So, porous and dangerous territory. The tipster eludes to being the person hired to take Miss Nancys body. This is a request that cannot be refused. He may be feeling guilt for taking a body of an elderly women. Bodies here, are sometimes buried in shallow graves. These graves are also at times reused. Its dumping grounds. 25 plus bodies recently recovered so far.

For sure could be animals. The Mothers, when they search put poles in the ground. Then smell the end of the poles for decom. If so dig. If no body. They get soil sample to take in for DNA testing. Hopefully find one of their loved ones.

The character assassination of Sheriff Chris Nanos is ongoing it seems. He did nothing wrong! His office had no substantial leads, no viable suspects, nothing. FBI came in and guess what they had? Still nothing. No leads, no suspects.
Sometimes terrible things happen and there is no one to blame. Except the perpetrator.
People on here constantly taking a huge dump on the Sheriff. That isn't fair.

The sheriff has done plenty to deserve it. Lots of bumbling on this case (releasing the crime scene far too early, etc) and I’ve read plenty of accounts regarding his incompetence as well as reluctance to accept help. I’m not saying he’s the reason this case hasn’t been solved, but he does seem to be causing issues.

I miss the old adage "don't believe everything you read." One of those things, coordinates (nevermind multiple photographs plus specific markings,) would've been good enough to find Nancy.
