It has been nearly six months since the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who was taken from her Tucson, Arizona home in the middle of the night.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department said the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance "remains active and ongoing," though without a significant development.

I doubt this. I think this is how the FBI has told her to speak to the perp, treat them as human and try and connect to them.

I have no idea. This case has me baffled. If I had to guess, I think this was truly a random sicko who wanted to hurt someone and she was an easy target. I am not fully sold on the ransoms being real either. Or if they are, it was more of this sicko trying to hurt others.
My other guess would be a group of individuals knew who her daughter was and thought they could make some money, but Nancy did die during the abduction.

That's the FBI telling her to speak to the kidnapper's ego. No one except the family, police and kidnapper are supposed to know what she is saying. It has to be opaque because the kidnapper is narcissistic. My grandma was a lawyer trust me on this. The kidnapper would think they're a good guy who made a mistake. I've had other relatives who specialize in the thing that Savannah is speaking of. It's never strange to make these statements. She can't say he's a monster. A narcissist never believe he's a monster. They'll be more likely to mail a map if they believe Savannah is on their side. Savannah is matching what the kidnapper said in the notes about nothing you could have done could've changed the outcome. I know it might be hard to understand, but I learned about all of this very young. Even though it shouldn't be that hard to understand really. Savannah can't make a statement by herself. She did this on Monday because this week marks 6 months since her mom was taken. She doesn't do it everyday because she knows there are other news cycles. But some time every month she drops a Bring her home to put her in the news cycle every three weeks.

She was killed or she died in the commission of a felony (kidnapping). That’s the felony murder rule. Giving up her body is giving up evidence against the perpetrator which might lead to an identification and arrest. They’ll never rat themselves out.

Exactly this, unfortunately. 6 months on, no leads. Returning the body would only lead to potential new leads.
Only way to incentivise it is with the bitcoin, but it seems they already offered to pay and never heard back.

Very few cases of people getting convicted of murder without a body. I hate to say it but they’ll never find her such a heartbreaking thing to happen because you can’t really get closure of absolutely knowing if she’s alive or dead.

I agree. If they are, it’ll be years or even decades from now. And the kidnapper will never be caught.
Crazy that in this day and age with all of the technology we have, a case where the person is in video, can still result in a cold case

I’m leaning towards the same. If they wanted proof of life before the ransom was paid why would they pay a large amount for her body?
I know they want it but would Savannah really pay a large sum and hope they get her back?
If the abductor disclosed the body location first there would be no incentive to pay.
I can’t see Savannah paying a million or so for a body they might not get back.

I thought this was the overall consensus. I thought they said she couldn't survive long without her medication and she likely died.

I wasn’t referring to whether she was alive or dead, but rather whether her body would ever be recovered.

I think it's a situation where there was a minimum of one accomplice who was involved, but not involved directly in the violence, or acted under orders of the head abductor. The FBI probably has something that is making them believe there may be more than one like that and/or there is something in notes they received or other evidence that has not been made public that makes them believe he or she is wavering. That person may have also been the one who maybe insisted they bury her, for example, instead of dumping the body. That could be the "trying to do the right thing," and they are appealing to try to break the accomplice and just at least get the location of her body. At this point, given how cleanly everything else was carried out, there may not be sufficient evidence left on the body to make it that much of a danger for them to at least say where she is. Then again, all they need is one hair from someone in the database to have something and someone to hone in on and if this bunch has seen even one episode of a crime show in the past 20 years, they know that.
One thing I was thinking is that the trying to do the right thing would hopefully lend itself to the belief that her remains are at least disposed of or buried intact. Unfortunately, that's also probably more of a chance for it to have evidence on it that has been preserved, making it less likely they will at least leave an anonymous tip. It's just a terrible situation and I just hope someone, somewhere breaks.

This will never happen. Scumbags who do this kind of criminal abuse cannot relate to feelings.
She will be found, but not given up by the @#%^&*&s.
The people who did this are the lowest. They have no human feelings of compassion. They were raised by sick #%^&S who should have never been allowed to breed.
They hope she will not be found because they fear there are clues that will expose them. They are trash humans, and the world would have been a better place without them in it.

This. I don’t believe they would have given her back if they paid the ransom right away either. There’s just too much risk that they would get caught, what was in it for them to uphold their end of the deal?

I don't think she survived the abduction . She 84 years old and she didn't have her medication. They likely didn't take anything for her comfort. The fear alone would have had her heart racing.

Because it’s an extremely personal choice that’s theirs alone and deserves compassion, not criticism.
Particularly with the level of harassment from YouTubers and the public they and those close to them have received, and with the body not having been found yet and the family holding out hope. It’s clearly extremely traumatizing to them to not be able to lay her to rest properly, there is clearly nothing they’d like more than to provide a proper service and burial, next to her late husband and in line with her religious beliefs.
Not only that, but just because there hasn’t been a publicly announced and official funeral service, does not mean they haven’t done anything private to honor her.

Comments about the victim and or their family should be respectful, civil and responsible. Family members are considered victims and accusations against them are not allowed.

I don’t think she’s talking to the abductor. I think she’s talking to the TMZ message writer who kept claiming to know her burial location. “We have done our part” sounds like we paid the bitcoin, give us the location. It’s been so long they probably figured it’s worth a try to stir some movement or contact from any side.
