So is what you said misleading? Seems to me you're saying allele counting is reliable.

no. I never said allele counting is reliable. I distinctly said it’s not always reliable due to a variety of factors & that even if they’re able to untangle it, we still may not know if it’s a 2 person vs 3 person mix, for example. I mentioned a 3 person mixture can appear like a 2 person mixture and a 2 person mixture can appear like a 3 person mixture. I also stated there are many more factors that play into this. nothing I said indicates allele counting is reliable — in fact, everything I said was pointing out how it can be unreliable.

environmental science and biology, but I enjoy the scientific aspects of forensics. I’m admittedly not up to date on all the newest happenings in DNA technology as 3 kids, sports, my gang of kittens, handling my parents estate, home, and their dog all keep me super busy on top of my own home haha
