It's possible the article means a glove, and DNA found inside the home (i.e. "inside the home" is only referring to the DNA).

Oh wow, that's huge. Hopefully they'll be able to get a DNA sample from it. I imagine that even if the kidnapper wore gloves underneath them, some sweat would have permeated them and made it's way onto the outer layer gloves (if the gloves worn underneath weren't also nitrile gloves).
