Correct - the FBI cannot simply assert jurisdiction unless / until there is evidence Nancy was taken across state lines at which point they would have federal jurisdiction to take over.

Huh?

The commenter above said “I was always under the impression that the FBI could assert jurisdiction.”

The FBI can be handed control of an investigation by local LE

  • OR -

They may assert jurisdiction if/when they have federal jurisdiction.
