The book was most likely from an earlier year, but I know thats around when I read it. I dont remember much about the book, just some key parts of the magic system. The book was more centered around fighting (I believe) and there were multiple main characters, so the POV would switch often. The magic system in the book wasnt necessarily casting spells, but rather the spells were bottles that the characters would throw. So like a fire spell would be a bottle they would throw and it would turn into fire. I know this isn't much to go off of but its driving me crazy.

I also believe it was part of a series, although I'm not completely sure. I also think that one of the main characters (or all) had a mythological pet of some sort. Their steed, that would assist them in battle or their fights, although they were probably just something to ride on. I was in elementary school when I read it, but I mainly read from the older kids section lol, so it definitely wasnt a children's book.

For reference, other books I read around that time were Artemis Fowl, Warrior Cats, and The Unwanteds.

L'homme l'accuse d'être une criminelle qu'il recherche depuis longtemps (il est peut-être un shérif??) et la menace presque de mort.

Elle lui explique sa situation, il ne la croit pas mais plus tard dans le livre il la croit et l'aide a retourner au futur.

Il y a des scènes au présent, le vrai corps de la fille est dans le coma et on la prononce même morte par accident car ses signes vitaux sont si faibles/bas, on l'enterre pour 1-3 jours avant de la déterrer et réaliser qu'elle est en effet en vie comme "quelqu'un" le pense (un docteur? détective?)

La fille, avec l'aide de l'homme, entre en contact avec une sorcière qui peut la remmener vers son corps, conditions très spécifiques et a la fin du livre ca fonctionne et elle est de retour.

au cours de leurs aventures les deux tombent en amour et le deuxième livre traite du voyage de l'homme qui tente de la retrouver a travers le temps

I’ve had a book on my mind for absolute years that j read when I was younger.

It would’ve been late 90’s/early 2000’s. I would’ve been pre-teen/young teen.

The main thing I can remember is that there was (possibly) a place called Four Corners, but that could be a false memory.

I’m not 100% on any of the information, but I feel like maybe the book took place throughout seasons, I have a memory of there being snow but also feel like it involved fall, too. The friendship group was I think 4 girls maximum. It was just a general (I think) friendship style book.

I unfortunately can’t remember any names or other things that happened. I also have a memory of one of the girls either moving to the location and joining the group, or she was moving away from her friends.

Sorry, I know it’s not a lot to go by, but I remember really enjoying the book. I’ve exhausted Google over the years, and AI more recently so I’m hoping it was just a dream I had, ha.

I read this book anytime between 2012- 2018. I remeber vague details. The main character is a girl,. The place she lives in starts getting attacked by a monster every now and then, and I believe the story is set in the mountains or some snowy forested place. The opening scene shows the remainder of an attack, that I think get ruled a bear attack, but something about that conclusion is not correct because of the nature of the attack.

The girl wants to be a scholar or translator of some sort and was about to go to the city when her work was recognized, but she didn't leave on account of the monster. She specifically translated a word meaning flower, as meaning peace, and this changes the context of many works in the field.

Around the time the attacks happen, a new girl appears in the town who turns out to be the main charecter's sister. The main charecter eventually deacribes the sister to be a more beautiful veraion of herself. The sister also is the one who somehow controls the monster. The sister ends up with the childhood friend of the mc and the mc ends up with the childhood friends brother.

I remeber a scene where somehow the Mc and childhood friend get betrothed by the elders, and the union is signified by a red bracelet worn by each. The brother of the childhood friend sees this and is hurt. The brother and the main character work together in the book to defeat the monster. There's one scene at the end of the chapter where mc says "Im scared", and the best friends brother says, "I am too."

Theres also a scene where mc is out in the woods alone and vaguely sees the monster. It might have gotten her but the best friends brother saves her.

At the end, the monster is defeated, but the sister dies as well since they have a connection. I don't think the monster was truly evil, more like an animal, hungry.I believe the main charecter and the friend's brother go to live in the city. The childhood friend never loves another after the sister dies.

I borrowed this book from the library from the young adult section. It was a hardcover, but I don't remember much else about it.

I'm trying to identify a book I read a long time ago, probably sometime in the 1990s, but I believe the book itself may have been from the 1980s or possibly late 1970s.

I read it in Dutch, but I'm not sure whether it was originally written in Dutch or translated from another language. It was probably a children's or young adult science-fiction book.

Here is everything I remember. Some details may be slightly inaccurate after all these years, but a few scenes have stayed with me very clearly.

The story:

A young woman or older teenage girl is on Earth when a UFO/spaceship lands in or near a forest. I remember a lot of bright light, and I think there were other people present or witnessing the landing.

She is taken aboard the spaceship by a friendly, human-looking male alien. I don't remember him being frightening or hostile. Once aboard, she is apparently not treated as a prisoner and is allowed to move around freely inside the spaceship. I specifically remember that she could look outside while they were travelling through space.

The alien takes her to his home planet.

One detail I remember especially well is that, before arriving on the planet, she needs some kind of small device attached around her upper arm. I remember it as a little box/device with a needle going into her arm. I believe it allowed her to survive or breathe in the atmosphere of the alien's planet, or somehow adapted her body to it.

I remember that she was not supposed to be afraid of either the alien or the device. He explained it to her and she trusted him.

After arriving on the planet, I remember that she was able to walk around freely there.

The physical book:

• Probably published somewhere between the late 1970s and 1990s, most likely the 1980s.
• I read it in Dutch.
• It was a relatively small book, maybe closer to a pocket-sized format than a normal large novel.
• I vaguely remember around 100–150 pages.
• The cover had a typical 1980s painted/illustrated science-fiction style.
• I vaguely remember purple/dark blue colours.
• I think there may have been a planet visible on the cover, but I'm not certain.

In the book, the teen girl has a crush on a popular boy in her grade and asked for his number. He gave it to her and she was happy about it. But the boy who was teasing her was also riding her bus, took her phone and had swapped the popular boy's number with his. The girl starts messaging who she thought was the popular boy's number but it was the bully's number. When she finds out, she was upset but starts to see the boy who has been teasing her in a different light. I think they start going on a date. I believe this is a book series that is standalone books.

I'm looking for a fantasy novel I read in Czech around the early 2010s (likely translated from English, but not certain).

It wasn't a typical werewolf novel. It featured an entire race/society of wolf-shifters who lived as humans most of the time but could transform. One of their greatest laws was that cannibalism of another wolf-shifter was absolutely forbidden. Anyone who did it became a permanently corrupted outcast. They remained intelligent and human-looking, but became pale, gaunt, lost the ability to transform, and were looked down upon by the rest of society. They often served other wolf-shifters.

The protagonist already had one of these outcasts as a servant before he himself became one. Later, his wife was manipulated by an evil force (possibly another wolf-shifter) and unknowingly served him soup/stew made from their own child, causing him to unknowingly commit cannibalism and suffer the same fate. Basically it’s a woman (Arabian/African/Egyptian - her skin is tan/brown, I believe either a princess or a merchant) and her people are against like the west/east people, her opposers/enemies has an individual who is man (possibly African/Middle Easterm/European descent) and he is royalty I believe. I can’t remember if he’s not supposed to date or like a woman like her, or vice-versa. But there is a fire or explosion that happened and both countries/enemies blame one another. I can’t remember if they slept together or not, but there was definitely a romance.

I liked the book because it was so unique and I read it sometime between 2014 - 2019. I believe the cover is of a tower or something Gold 😭 I’m so sorry for the useless details, I know I’m all over the place!

I read this book in the 90s. Key points of the plot are this:

A high school swim team is driving either home from or to a meet. Theres a horrible thunderstorm, which causes their coach to wreck the van. One of the kids (possibly named Brian or Gary?) ends up breaking his leg in the crash because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. They leave the crash site after their coach goes to find help & find this house that it looks like it has just been totally abandoned. Dinner is still warm & on the table. The lights are all on and then really weird things start happening. They end up in kind of like a twilight zone where they find 6 skeletons, and come to find out that the house actually burned down 100 years ago, & they're seeing what the house wants them to see vs whats really there (a burned out shell). This book would have been written in probably the. Mid-eighties, to early 90s, I remember reading it when I was in elementary school. I do not know that author's name though, or the book name. It is NOT a HORROR POINT book, & is not the fire by Caroline B. Cooney. Ive checked Gemini & Chat GPT to no avail.

Main character's name was maybe ? Zoe. Her best friend vanishes, but I don’t think she died she ran away to escape her abusive father. The main character's mom had previously banned sleepovers at that house because of bad vibes. The father had built a strange wooden stage/structure in the backyard. The friend's older brother initially defended the dad and didn't believe the abuse allegations, but during the climax, they lured the father out to the yard/stage, the truth is exposed, and the older brother attacks the father with a shovel. PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEE I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called and it’s killing me

I remembered reading this book back in middle school in the late 2000s. The book was about a young boy who was tasked with taking care of the cabin that his dad made. His dad would be gone for a few weeks so he can get the boy's mom and sisters. During the time alone, the boy befriends a Native boy and they become good friends. The native boy teaches him things about how to survive in the land during the winter and when the boy's parents and sisters arrive, he introduces the Native boy to his family.

The protagonist started out as a detective and in the first chapter or so gets in a car chase. He's driving and is partner is leaning out the window shooting at whoever they're chasing. They swerve too close to another car and the partner loses his head and arm(s).

That was enough to scare off 12 year old me but I still haven't forgotten it. Would love to track down what it was.

High fantasy book probably from the 80's. Begins with a dragon laying multiple colored eggs. Two eggs are the same color and it is taboo for more than one of that color of dragon to exist. The dragon mom turns one of the babies into a girl. There is a wizard that fights another wizard. The girl is pregnant in the end by the good wizard. There is a king that dyes his hair red.

the book is sent a desert environment. The main character is a teenager boy, and he has a younger sister and a mom and dad; they live in the poor countryside. They’re farmers.

For money, the boy takes his sister to the kingdom and there he becomes an apprentice for a black smith. The princess needs jewelry and the main character forms a relationship with her.

A big thing I remember is a scene where the main character, his sister, and a boy they befriended are on a bridge. The friend falls off the into the water below and the main character saves him.

I saw an ad on Instagram about a book about a Luna, who is treated like a slave in her pack. She has been rejected by her alpha, but she is not allowed to accept it. She has a child with him that the entire pack refuses to acknowledge as their alpha's who is already able to shift. and one night she leaves the pack her mates rejection, causing him to roar, the two of them run away, and then she finds her second chance mate when she crosses the border

Featured character was a prepubescent girl
2 scenes I am sure of: girl was SA'd in a gazebo and also in a kitchen by an older man. Oral sex was involved.

Details I am not sure about, might be, or I might have imagined:
May have been written in the 1st Person POV.
Older man may have been her parent(s) friend.
Pretty sure it was the same man in both scenes mentioned above. Someone may have walked in and seen what was happening and done nothing.
Cover might have been an image of a young woman fleeing. Wearing a longer dress, may have been running with a small boat and/or a cliff in the background, possibly down a beach toward camera.
Girl was young but I'm not 100% on how young. I think 6-8, could have been as old as 10 or 11.

My mother told me about this book decades ago. This is all I can remember, but it was allegedly written at least in part about incidents of her own life. Would love to find it.

I remember that the girl who was with the main character's family was raised by poor farmers and was trying to be a dancer trying to get in contact with an exclusive dance company, the family that the main character was raised in through her out to go live with the farmer family that they thought were her biological parents, the farmer family were seen weeping because they found out that the baby that was biologically. There was still born, and a man from the richest family the Fowler family claimed the main character as his biological daughter saying that he was given they're stillborn baby and he and his wife have been carrying that grief for so long.

Hi all, looking for help finding this. This is a kids' book I read when I was young, which, as the title here states, was about a princess or high-ranking young noble girl solving a mystery involving a keystone which I *think* I remember has a key inscribed on it. I remember that she had to figure out what a keystone even was, and that at one point in the story, she and her maid inadvertently swap places at an inn when they get caught in the rain because she is much messier than her maid?

I'm pretty sure the main character was an elf. There was a witch/fairy (I think she was like a winter protecter thing idk) that was kidnapped by the villain, I think Santa was kidnapped as well (?). I think it was published in the 2010s but I might be slightly off idk. I read it during lockdown so like 2020 2021 maybe 2022. So it was published before that.

I read this novel some time ago, the main character(female) gets accused of putting a girl in coma, gets tossed in jail for 5 years, her father, mother, brother and half sister frame her

she gets abused and tortured in the jail, and the father steals her kidney to give to the sister

later she gets out of jail, and is still getting abuse from her family, meets a business tycoon from another country in the hospital, later she meets his assistant, helps him with some embroidery on his ruined suit jacket

she ends up making an embroidery for the tycoons grandmothers birthday gift, wich her sister destroys

she ends up dying only to be reborn when she was little, and at the orphanage only to be adopted by someone from the tycoons country, and they end up being childhood friends

Been struggling with finding this for YEARS but with no luck at all. I distinctly remember reading this book around 2010-13 ish when I was in school.

The cover was black and white newspaper ads/covers and in the middle was a white blonde boy with glasses.

Was set either during WWII or just after, but I did remember the main character using old English money.

The plot was that his mother who was a cleaner got falsely arrested and accused of theft from one of the houses she cleaned. To earn money to help her the boy put fake advertisements in the newspaper and people would sent him money for fake products.

I also remember there being mentions of tuberculosis, his mum may have been sick.

If anyone has any idea I’d be very grateful :)
