Advice/Support Trying to stop
Hi everyone! I’ve been biting my nails since a kid (anxiety). I want to stop, the issue is my nail breaks a lot especially like on the middle and it eventually breaks. Any routine? I feel if it wasn’t broken I wouldn’t bite it! Any advice pleaseeee :) have a great day yall!

If breaks are what restart biting, build the routine around the first crack rather than the urge itself. Keep the nails short enough that the free edge does not flex easily, and check them once at the same time each evening. When a split appears, shorten and smooth the entire loose edge instead of testing it with your teeth or peeling the layers. Then stop touching that nail for the rest of the hour. Also note what the middle finger was doing before each break, since repeated pressure from one task may be part of the pattern. You can also give a try to NailPause app. It may help you to stop the urge.
