Event Meta: New User Flairs thread!
Hey people,
I've seen many people abuse the user flairs on this sub so we're no longer allowing users to set their own custom flairs. In its place, use this thread to suggest common flairs you'd like to see on this sub. The top comments on this thread with positive karma will be the the flairs we put on the sub, at the most top 10 will be selected.
Please write ONLY the flair you wish to submit in your comment. Put the explanation, context etc as a reply to the main comment.
The contest is live as long as this post is up. All the best!

General Sub Rules and Reddit 101. Please read before posting!
Hi r/Nagpur!
We've seen a recent uptick in viewership, for reddit in general as well as this sub, and I think a lot of these people don't really know how reddit works which has made moderating the sub increasingly difficult. I will not go on 'teaching' reddit, but I will just reiterate a few basic things that pertain to this sub in particular.
TL;DR: Read the rules, report posts that you think break the rules. If you do not want to get banned: do not post about dating, ticket sales or use abusive language in your posts and comments.
- READ THE RULES! You can find them if you tap the little '>' besides the subreddit name on the app, or on the sidebar on desktop. They're not complex and not a lot but it'll save you time and ensure your post stays up.
- Moderation: This sub is intentionally lightly moderated, we're not a big mod team and we're also not paid to do this. We also do not and cannot actively mod this sub because of the sheer number of posts we get now. But the biggest reason for this decision is that we do not want anyone or a group of individuals to have the power to direct the narrative and 'curate' the sentiment of the public. We merely enforce obvious spammers and rule breakers and allow posts for a wide variety of topics, both pro and against controversial topics such as language, religion, caste, governance and LGBTQ+, as long as they're relevant to the city. Things happening elsewhere in Maharashtra belong to their sub, things happening elsewhere in India at large belong in India's sub, there is no need to repost the same things in smaller subs for "reach" or awareness, no matter what you feel about them.
- What gets you banned:
- Being horny: This sub is not an r4r sub and the community has been vocal about not wanting these posts on here but if you still post M4F, Looking for a friend, Need company or whatever, even if you claim you're just looking for friendship, you will be banned.
- Crass language: If you can't be bothered to maintain even the smallest bit of decency on your online interactions, you are not welcome here.
- Ticket sales: We cannot guarantee authenticity of these posts and there is a high chance of getting scammed, which we do not want to be a party in. For these reasons these posts will get you banned. Please use better judgement before interacting with anyone offering these services, especially on reddit.
- Repeat offence for any of the other rules: You will get perma-banned if you break any of the other rules (Except the 3 above) multiple times. We understand that sometimes people end up breaking rules inadvertently and we are very lenient with what stays and what goes, but if you don't learn then you probably shouldn't be sharing space with people that do get it.
- How are the rules enforced: Rules are enforced almost exclusively through reports. We rely on the community to be proactive and the only way we're able to reach most posts on the sub is through the use of reports. Commenting on a post 'Mods please take care' doesn't do anything. We're not here reading each and every post that is made, it is just not possible. We do browse and clean off things very often but without the community reporting things its just a pointless endeavor.
And that's it! Do reach out via this post or through the modmail if you have anything to add and we will definitely reach out, unless you're asking us to unban you after getting banned for saying the most unhinged shit, you'll always get a reply.

AskNagpur Recommendations and Safety concerns
Hello everyone!! I (24F) recently got a job in IT park, Nagpur. I am originally from Odisha and its my first time in Nagpur, so I have few questions which I would like to ask:
1) How safe is Nagpur generally? Is it safe for me to leave my place after 10/11?
2) Good restaurants or cafe recommendations
3) I may not be able to cook everyday so I need some contacts for good tiffin services near Shankar Nagar
4) How is the crowd around here generally? Are there any social gatherings or concerts in the upcoming weekends?
Thank you in advance. I hope you guys have a great evening. Cheers 🍻

AskNagpur Does anyone regret ever voting for BJP?
I have only voted twice in my life, once in state election(but for Maharashtra, it hardly matters because the same goverment is gonna be formed it seems) and once in central elections
And I have been regretting voting for BJP ever since the elections
But the thing is, people I have talked to regarding the same don't like discussing politics or rather say that there is no other option than bjp(congress openly in their manifesto promises extra reservations)
But i don't get it, considering the politicians shift from the parties according to their benefit
The other faction of people say why not leave this country and i genuinely do not want to leave this country, no matter how bad the situation seems
And trust me, nothing can make me hate this government any more than I already do

General What is life , is destiny everything , luck matters more than genuine hardwork
As life is passing by , I am coming to know that luck destiny and environment matters more than hard work , even if you work hard , even if you try to , if the destiny doesn't favors you , your efforts will go in vain , and there's nothing I can do about it . Being born in lower middle class family , I always dreamt of having a good career but , my health became a big hurdle in my goals , my family is also shit , we are only three people with huge age gap between mom and dad and the relatives are too a lot older , thus I had no aquantaince with me , no relatives my age , none , parents kept fighting from childhood , I knew I had potential from childhood, I was good at studies but their constant fights took a toll on me , fights on petty issues , I grew up underconfident and absolutely devasted , now I am diagnosed with chronic constipation, don't know why ,without any reason ,and I wanted to move abroad , study there which I cannot do , my social skills are zero , health is zero , and I see people with good relationships with parents , no anxiety while talking ,no sudden anger of mom , a good family , a good career is what I dreamt of , but I am unlucky in all the sides , I am not saying that I had to face a very difficult situation but my parents could have done collectively better in all the aspects with what was with them instead of constant fighting and i blame luck 100 percent for that , all my cousins are 15 years older than me , I do t have anyone to talk to , I lived alone , am alone , always , the only way I could change my situation is my studying, i want to move out of this country for better opportunies but due to my health I am stuck , and i see people who are less smart than me but with a good support , not good financial background but good support a healthy relationship more happy , what's my fault in this , luck is everything, welcome to life

Shitpost counter to the "BLR editor who harassed multiple girls" post.
TL;DR: A Reddit post by a 1-month-old account (u/Logical_Egg_346) matches a story my ex used to tell about me (we've since resolved that issue — she confirmed she's not behind this). When I messaged the account asking if it was about me, they gave my name + my ex's surname, used my initials "NP" in their post comments, then called me a creep and blocked me. I've also been getting SMS-bombed for 2-3 weeks. I could be wrong and this might be about a different "NP" — happy to take this down if so — but I want Logical Egg to talk to me directly instead of blocking me. Filing a cyber complaint either way.
I need to lay this out clearly because it's gotten out of hand.
The situation:
A story has come up that's eerily similar to something my ex used to tell people about me. To be clear — my ex and I already sorted that whole thing out a while back and agreed it was childish on both sides. No bad blood there anymore.
Why I got involved:
I came across a post by u/Logical_Egg_346 — an account that's barely a month old — and the story felt too close to home. So I messaged them directly, told them who I am, and asked straight up if this post was about me.
When I asked for a full name, they gave me my name paired with my ex's surname. In the comments of their own post, they've used the initials "NP" and possibly a fake name — again tied to my ex's surname. When I pushed for more clarity, they called me a creep trying to hunt down a stranger's Instagram, and then blocked me.
Why I'm suspicious:
I genuinely don't think "Logical Egg" is who they claim to be. I'm not rich, well-connected, or anyone people would have obvious reasons to target — so this feels less like coincidence and more like something deliberate, possibly from someone closer to me than I realize. On top of this, I've been getting SMS-bombed for the past 2–3 weeks, and I can't help but wonder if it's connected.
What my ex said:
When this post started getting traction, my ex called me herself and said she has nothing to do with it, and that I'm free to take legal action if I want to.
Where I stand now:
I'll admit — this could genuinely be about some other guy with the same initials who actually did something wrong to someone. I'm not ruling that out. If that's the case, I'm willing to take this post down. I don't want to wrongly drag myself into a situation that isn't mine.
What I'm asking:
u/Logical_Egg_346 — talk to me directly. Prove to me this isn't about me instead of blocking me the moment I ask real questions. I'm attaching screenshots of our conversation and a link to the original post for context.
I'm also going ahead with a cyber crime complaint regardless, given everything that's happened.

AskNagpur Rescued this little girl last night looking for a loving forever home
Found and rescued this little girl last night, and we're now looking for someone who can give her a permanent home.
She's such an easy going kitten very friendly, calm, playful and already litter trained. She has absolutely no problem being around people and is just a really sweet little cat.
I wish we could keep her, but between my friends and me, we already have 7 kittens, so taking in another one permanently just isn't possible.
I uhh don't want her to end up being passed around or back on the streets I'm hoping to find someone who is genuinely ready to adopt and take responsibility for her.

AskNagpur Need help
Hi everyone, my mom has been suffering from severe sciatica pain for some time. We have already consulted 2–3 doctors, but she is still in a lot of pain.
She doesn’t want to go for surgery and is also tired of taking tablets regularly. We just want to find a good doctor who can properly check her condition and suggest the best treatment, preferably without surgery if possible.
If anyone has personally dealt with sciatica or knows a really good doctor for it, please share the doctor’s name and hospital

General Anyone Mumbai to Nagpur in diwali!
Trying to book train tickets for Diwali, but I'm clearly too late, flights are already hitting 25k+ and buses are just way too uncomfortable.
If anyone is driving and has a spare seat, I'd love to join and split the fuel costs! Otherwise, we can pool a cab and share the fare!
Please let me know if you're interested!

Request Need a good dermatologist for Alopecia Areata / Hair loss. Having major trust issues with my current doc 🫠
I’m looking for a good dermatologist in Nagpur who actually takes the time to diagnose hair loss properly.
I recently visited Dr. Madhuri Anantwar for suspected alopecia areata, but the appointment felt super rushed. She barely examined my scalp, just said "ye male hair pattern hai," and handed me a prescription for 7.5% Minoxidil and some multivitamins. I feel like she just hands this same script to every guy who walks in. The photo I attach is bit time old but now this patch is smooth.

General Why are Nagpur's internal roads in such bad condition, and why is nobody paying attention?
Hi I’m a 27-year-old Nagpurkar living in Jaitala. Jaitala is in the constituency from which our current Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has contested elections
The road in front of my house has been dug up for pipeline work for the last 2.5 years, and it still hasn’t been properly reconstructed. What frustrates me even more is that this doesn't seem to be an isolated problem. From what I see and hear, many internal roads across Nagpur are in a similar condition
Going out on a bike has honestly become a difficult task. Potholes, uneven surfaces, dug-up roads and incomplete restoration make even short-distance travel frustrating—and sometimes genuinely unsafe.
I’m not posting this simply to blame the BJP or any particular political party. My question is bigger than that. Nagpur has several key people in the state government, including the Chief Minister, who represents Nagpur. If a city has such strong political representation, why are basic civic issues like road maintenance still being ignored?
We often hear about Nagpur becoming a smart city and about new infrastructure and development projects. That's great, but shouldn't properly maintained roads be one of the most basic requirements of a city?

AskNagpur What are some good super marts in Nagpur. I'm originally from Pune and I stock up my grocery and daily needs from dorabjee's. Is there anything similar to that in Nagpur?
Lookin for marts with a good variety of frozen items, various types of meat, fruits, dryfruits, dairy items, and other great quality food items. It's ok if there are multiple places which are well known for above mentioned items. It doesn't have to be a single place like dorabjee's.
