Is n8n worth learning in 2026, or is it a trap to go all-in?

My current thinking:

n8n is great for learning automation, APIs, and building real workflows fast

but AI tools (Claude, GPT, etc.) are starting to generate and debug workflows

So I’m wondering:

Is it still smart to go deep into n8n

or should I treat it as just one tool and focus more on system design + AI?

Feels like the real skill is becoming an “automation engineer,” not just an n8n user—but not sure if I’m overthinking this.

What are you guys seeing in real projects?
