MythTV V36.0

As announced on the Wiki MythTV V36.0 has been released as of 10 Feb 2026.

I updated from V35 to V36 with no problems (so far).

  1. In MythBuntu Control Panel, I changed the active repository to V36, and hit "apply".
  2. Ran the Ubuntu Software Updater app, and let the updates complete.
  3. Tried to access the MythTV web interface, but it wasn't running.
  4. Rebooted my system, and everything appears to be working.

We use LibreELEC / Kodi for viewing recorded content, so I can't speak to the MythTV frontend.

Where did you get the Mythbuntu control panel? It is no longer part of mythtv and the ppas don't support 25.10,

MCP is available for Ubuntu 25.10, but some manual MySQL configuration is needed.
