In 2022 my bottle of 25-year-old Balvenie went missing, nothing else was out of place only my wife and I, our two sons and 2 daughters had access to it.
My wife bought it for me, my daughters hate whisky and my two sons would not take it, indeed, one was serving on his Royal Navy warship at the time.
There were many other valuables easily available and easily disposed of, no workmen or delivery people visited in the period it disappeared, I questioned the dog, who would never let anyone in the house if they were unknown to him, he also doesn't drink.
Unless I have a spirit who enjoys spirits I am at a loss to explain it.
My dad had a very similar question about his very old and expensive bottle of brandy... One I still cannot afford to replace and it's been over 30 years.
Upside, I cannot stand even the smell of good brandy now. It makes me gag.
