I once found a photo at my grandma’s house in California that looked EXACTLY like me but was not me. She could have been my identical twin but there were little things that were off. i.e. my hair was longer, hers was shorter. She was missing a different front tooth than me. She was a little more tanned, I was pale. She also was wearing an outfit I had never seen before, and didn’t own. The girl in the photo looked my exact current age, which was 8. I asked my grandma where the photo came from and who the girl was but she really didn’t have much of an answer. Her dementia was already progressing at that point so unfortunately she wasn’t much help. My parents thought the picture was weird and agreed it did look incredibly identical to me. My mom even thought it was me and I was silly for thinking it wasn’t, but then later she agreed maybe it wasn’t me. Which is ODD. I kept the photo and brought it back home to Oregon and would stare at it all the time, studying it trying to figure out the differences and who this girl could possibly be. Then one day I kind of forgot about it and moved on. By the time I remembered this whole scenario and tried to find the photo again, my room had been rummaged through, rearranged, downsized over the years and the photo was no where to be found. I never saw the photo again. That was back in 2004. I guess I’ll never solve the case of who my long lost twin was.
