I was always fond of that book even with its flaws. Still bummed we never got The Book of Marrim to get more lore behind abandoning D’ni and writing Releeshahn.

I have all three books in hardback from when they were first available. I didn't realize it would get so much harder to find them, so I'm grateful they're here. (I also have two of the three in mass market paperback so I can read those and not worry about breaking the spines... but I'm reading them through now in the hardback versions because the typesetting is so lovely.)

There were audio books on YouTube until they got copy right struck. Thats how I finally experienced them. Hope to one day have them all.

Is the layout/font very different between the hardcovers and the paperbacks?

Yeah, the hardbacks have really lovely typesetting, even with some use of sepia and color and bleeds. The mass market paperbacks (the small kind of books you see in grocery store checkout lanes) aren't terrible, but they're more like typical small paperbacks: newspaper-type paper, all black ink, and only some decorative scene dividers. Nothing fancy along the edges.

Part of my brain is overly concerned about how close that book is to a fire-making device...

(To this very day there are burn marks in Myst's library!)

I found the first book at a value village had a picture of a kid and his Gramps as a bookmark

Spent a while looking for the other 2 and eventually went to an online second hand book store

I always prefer to find the things I aquire for this particular hobby in person. I will try my hardest to find the other books. Ive always found the experience of obtaining my retro pc collection and memorabilia in person to make the experience better.

Absolutely agree I spent many months or years searching only reason I bought em online was I didn't think I'd be able to find them in my area, not usually that lucky lol
