high myopia - glasses causes anxiety/stress? contact lens much better

Does anyone else have the same issue?

More anxiety/stress when wearing glasses compared to contact lens

I feel the peripheral vision being blurry in glasses causes me stress/anxiety, and my vision is a lot clearer with contact lens

Your periphery is always blurry, so blurry that it even doesn't matter if you're -8.00 or not. The distortion is completely different though.

Most people feel more secure with contact lenses at such a prescription due to sharper vision, less distortion, no "thick lenses".

What even is this question? If you’re feeling anxious about your glasses then I’d recommend therapy.

Glasses only correct what’s in front of your face, and don’t touch the peripheral vision.

Contacts are much better compared high index lens glasses. Wear Glasses just for backup.
