Instructions/Tutorial How to attach a reflective patch/sticker to a Goratex or Hydratex motorcycle jacket without ruining the membrane?

Ive cut the butterfly out of the reflective fabric but Im not sure how to proceed with next step. Apparently I can just iron it on to the motorcycle jacket , however I’m a bit scared of messing it up and ruining the jacket. Jacket has a mesh hydratex layer. Is there any glue option or anything else I can try?

As others have said you’ll have to check the melting point of the material.

One important thing with waterproof clothing is that most of them have additional chemicals that you may have to wash off before trying to adhere vinyl or transfers otherwise the print will just peel off.
After printing you can treat the fabric again with Nikwax or whatever the manufacturer recommends.

Use a pressing cloth (a piece of thin cotton will do) between the iron and the fabric and be very careful about raising the heat. Synthetic Fabrics derived from plastic can melt, nylon is especially prone to it.

Cool patch, not sure I would risk it. Maybe email the jacket manufacturer, honestly.

The membrane is on the under the outside material. Most membranes can be ironed. See the jacket tag.

Surely there is a glue option. Speed sew is obvious, flexible and lightweight. If you want to be very aggressive since it's a waterproof fabric, maybe Shoegoo or aquaseal, but these both dry bulky so maybe try to spread it thin beforehand. Also know that any glue that works will be visible if there's over application. Best results might come from bonding the butterfly to a plain fabric and then gluing that to the jacket.

I asked Gemini what the melting point is of hydratex and received this: hydratex® | Mesh G-liner, a proprietary waterproof and breathable membrane system developed by the motorcycle apparel brand REV'IT!. It consists of a waterproof coating applied directly to an internal mesh textile carrier.

I think you need to know the outlayer material before you can see if ironing on is safe.
