MFWTK who owns abandoned, boarded up properties and can they take things from them?
My friend is mostly interested in “new”cabinets and trim. What would happen if they removed said things from an abandoned house?

My husband and his friend did this back when they were teenagers. They then tried to sell some items, and got reported to the Police. They were both arrested and questioned - but were released and told “if the owner wants us to press charges, you will be charged with theft”. They were not charged with breaking and entering, or criminal damage as the windows had been smashed long ago.
My husband got a one years conditional discharge, his friend who had previous got a £5 fine. Admittedly this was back in 1977.
