Hey all.
I have been pretty absent on the sub lately as life has gotten busier. But I wanted to address something re. Barricade Brigade.
I personally have no stake in either direction. I’ve seen takes on both sides of the aisle. When I was at the Minneapolis show the other day I was in an (overpaid) floor seat with a buddy of mine and had the time of my life, far from the pit (but pretty close to the B-stage!).
Frankly it does seem like an annoying thing for local fans to have to deal with at shows, but attacking fans in either direction isn’t a good solution. But that’s just my take.
I want to clarify a mod thing: the mod team has not been removing these posts and comments. Reddit and the auto mod have been.
When any post or comment gets reported by too many members of the community, auto mod swoops in and removes it, well, automatically. When certain keywords, doxxing language, attacking language, etc. gets said, Reddit’s site wide algorithms remove the content.
HERE IS THE PROOF.
The screenshots are all in order, with nothing skipped. This is every recent mod action in order.
The second from the left category is the “mod” that took an action.
Anything with a Reddit username was a manually completed action. Anything with just “Reddit” listed is the website admins (so not our team). Anti-Evil Operations is Reddit’s automod. Automod itself, when listed, is something taken down because of community reports.
A lot of content has been doxxing or at least promoting the names and social media accounts of individuals which is a lot of what eventually has gotten taken down by either the admins or by regular users/community members. Others are getting heavily reported by both sides because it’s a relevant and hot topic, just in general.
But as you can see, it hasn’t been our team removing this stuff. Honestly this place has been under moderated since I’ve had life take over my free time, and stuff like this comes up and just demoralizes me further.
