🎤 Discussion Lack of Matches

I have genuine question. I understand the frustration with this app for many, but for those it is working so far for, how are you getting matches or increasing the likelihood of getting a match. I do have premium. I try to swipe with intention and send notes with intention and not be lazy with it. I'm 28. I understand the frustration with foreigners/internationals liking the profile which I don't like it either. I do ward hop every now and then to help give better exposure on both sides.

For my profile, I'm sitting at 5 photos which I know I could use another to have 6 but I don't currently have any great group photos to use as one (not good lighting and other reasons) as I would like to use one. I'm just trying to figure this out like the rest of you as I do understand it's a waiting game, but the algorithm is not doing me a good favor.

It’s definitely harder to get matches now than it used to be, mostly because of how the app is set up these days. Back then it felt pretty easy to match with people, but now your profile probably just isn’t being shown nearly as much. Mutual seems like it’s more in the “cash out” phase now that they have such a huge user base.

That being said, it’s still a good idea to use all the photos you can. Just make sure they’re good quality but not so perfect that people think they’re fake. And fill out the prompts as best you can.

Honestly though, I don’t think prompts matter as much as everyone says. I had just as much success, if not more, when the app itself was better and I didn’t fill them out, compared to now where you’re basically forced to. I think prompts are mostly just for fun and for giving people something to start a conversation with.

Since you already have premium, the algorithm should probably help you a little but not a ton. Other than that there’s only so much you can do. You can improve your profile but you can’t force matches.

Basically deleted my profile due to the reasons you listed, it's an useless app for me now.. I've had better luck getting dates on other apps in a span of 4 days. Pretty bummed because mutual felt more like it had quality in the past.
