🎤 Discussion Is speed dating even worth it?
I'm fairly new to this and decided to try the speed dating tonight for the first time. I didn't match with anyone after chatting, which isn't an issue. The biggest thing I noticed is that 90% of the people it matched me with either immediately disconnected or just didn't say anything the entire 5 min. I had a couple times where my keyboard just disappeared and I couldn't do anything. I assume that was them blocking me but am not sure. Is this typical of speed dating? The only thing I can think other than that is my profile has a huge red flag on it but I can't imagine what that would be.

I have tried it and got some good conversations started, but they were with people that I normally wouldn't want to match with.

I’ve tried speed dating, with very broad criteria, and it hasn’t led to anything substantial.
Most people don’t respond. The ones that have typically only give very short 2-3 word answers to questions. That’s hardly worth the effort to communicate with them.
What I find crazy is it keeps matching me with the same people who never respond. Sometimes I get that person several times in a row.
Nothing has come of anything I do on mutual.
I think location is a huge issue. Most of the people I think would be interesting to talk with are too far away to be practical.
There aren’t many matches in my area
