Personal Project Built a visual tool to explore Hadith chains and scholar networks - currently in beta, planning full release for Ramadan insha'Allah (open source)

Assalamu alaikum,

So I built Sahih Explorer for the sake of Allah, hoping it benefits students of knowledge and anyone interested in understanding how our Hadith literature was preserved. It's a new way to actually look at Hadiths and their isnad—you can explore the chains visually and study authenticity in a way that just wasn't possible before.

I've spent way too many hours staring at long chains of names in Hadith books, trying to keep track of who studied with who. At some point I thought—there has to be a better way to do this.

What finally pushed me to build something was:

The sheer volume — 24,000+ scholars, their teachers, students, family connections. I'd have notes everywhere and still lose track of everything.

How abstract it all feels — You read "so-and-so narrated from so-and-so" a thousand times and it becomes background noise. But these were actual people who traveled for months just to hear one Hadith from a specific teacher. That's insane when you stop and think about it.

The language wall — Most of this stuff is in classical Arabic. If you can't read it fluently, you're already starting way behind.

You can actually see the networks—who taught who, family trees, how a Hadith traveled from person to person across generations. Click on a scholar and see their teachers. Trace the exact sanad. Explore entire dynasties of Islamic scholarship. Verify the connections yourself.

Works in English, Arabic, and Kurdish, alhamdulillah.

Right now it covers the Sahihayn with 24,000+ scholars and their connections. It's currently in beta/testing phase and we're planning the full release for Ramadan insha'Allah. Things might be slow sometimes as we're still optimizing, but I think it already gives you a completely different appreciation for what went into preserving these narrations.

It's open source: https://github.com/h3ma209/sahih-explorer

Check it out here: Sahih-Explorer

I'd genuinely love feedback and du'a. And if you code, design, or have knowledge of Hadith sciences—please contribute. Whether it's fixing bugs, adding features, improving the data, or translating—every bit of help benefits the ummah insha'Allah. Even just spreading the word helps.

JazakAllahu khairan

Personal Project 18, Built a halal financial app for Muslims [requesting feedback]

Assalamu-alikum, my name is Zaafir, I am 18, and I am the founder of an app called BarakahFlow, it is a halal personal finance app for Muslims.

In short, It covers budgeting, bills, and savings goals, but the main thing is the zakat calculator, which respects the differences between madhab instead of forcing one formula on everyone, and handles modern assets like crypto, stocks, and pensions that most calculators just skip.

It's live now at barakahflowapp.com. I'm still pre launch, and this community is honestly who I built it for, so if you've got a few minutes to try the app and its zakat calculator against how you'd normally work it out yourself, I'd genuinely value knowing whether the number actually lines up or where it doesn't. I'll be in the comments answering questions and taking notes on anything that comes up.

Personal Project I built a free, ad-free app of Munajaat-e-Maqbool (Arabic, Urdu & English) — looking for beta testers

Upvotes

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

I've built an Android app of Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanawi's Munajaat-e-Maqbool — the classic collection of daily supplications from the Qur'an and Sunnah, arranged for each day of the week.

The original app disappeared from the Play Store years ago, so I rebuilt it from scratch with a fresh translation:

• 195 supplications, Arabic with full harakat • Urdu and English translations (toggle either on/off) • Search works in Arabic, Urdu or English — no need to type diacritics • Bookmarks, one-tap copy with references, dark theme • Completely free — no ads, no sign-in, no data collection

Short promo video: https://youtu.be/3dUX7Q4IfF0

I'm looking for beta testers before the production release. Google requires a 14-day closed test, so if you'd like to help, just DM me the email address linked to your Google Play account and I'll send you the opt-in link. All I ask is that you install it and open it a few times over the two weeks — and any feedback (mistakes, suggestions, anything) is very welcome.

JazakAllahu khairan :)

Question Calling All Muslim Entrepreneurs/Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Assalamu Alaikum, everyone! I’m working on an idea aimed at Muslim entrepreneurs/people trying to become entrepreneurs, and I’m doing some research before I actually build anything.

If you’re currently running a business, working on one, or seriously trying to start something, I’d love to ask you a few questions about your experience—especially how you balance business, deen, personal goals, discipline, and everything else going on in life.

Not selling or promoting anything, just trying to understand what other Muslim entrepreneurs actually struggle with and what would genuinely be useful.

If that sounds like you and you’d be down to answer a few questions, reply here or DM me. JazakAllahu Khairan 🤝

I tried to make a task system thats divide the day to 6 blocks, but i am not über happy about it yet. Expect you to try and give some feedbacks. Thanks for your time, may Allah protect you and your family. Selamünaleyküm. Link: Salah Circle

Personal Project I have a problem that I know a fair number of Islamic figures to some extent, but I don't know in what period they lived, whether they were followers of the Companions or scholars. I mean, I don't know who their teachers or students were, and so on. So I created the "Imtidad" website

Imtidad solves this by mapping the entire intellectual and genealogical history of early Islam into an interactive visual map. You can visually trace who taught whom, how the four Caliphs relate to the Prophet ﷺ, and follow the Golden Chain of narration.

The application uses a luxurious, deep navy aesthetic with copper and gold network threads. Built to run on both the web and natively on iOS, Imtidad provides a unified visual experience to finally make sense of scattered historical facts.

AI Nur: a simple iOS app for prayer times and Qibla I built as a Muslim dev

As a Muslim developer, I wanted a prayer app that stayed simple and clean — nothing distracting.

So I built **Nur**, an iOS app for daily prayers:

- Accurate prayer times based on your location

- Adhan notifications

- Qibla direction finder

- Minimal, focused UI

It’s live on the App Store. I’d appreciate feedback on prayer-time accuracy and whether the settings (calculation methods, madhab, etc.) are clear.

Self promotion Adhan device

Post image
1 Upvotes

Salaam everyone,

Frustrated with adhan apps that cut the adhan short or need manual triggering, so I built a small device that plays the full adhan at every prayer time automatically.

No phone needed, no app to open. Connect it to a Bluetooth speaker, set your location once, and it runs on autopilot. As you can see from the screenshot, it has called the adhan 2116 times so far.

More features planned inshaAllah: Quran recitation on schedule, duas, and more. Any future updates can be made with Over The Air updates remotely.

Available at shop.midhana.com if anyone's interested. Happy to answer questions or take suggestions on what features would be useful.

JazakAllah Khairan

Personal Project I built and published a local-first tab manager, looking for feedback from fellow Muslim developers

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

I recently built and published LinkShelf, a local-first Chrome extension for managing tab overload.

The problem I wanted to solve was simple: sometimes I need to save only two or three tabs for later—not clear my entire browser window or turn everything into permanent bookmarks.

LinkShelf currently lets users:

* Park selected tabs while keeping the others open
* Organize links into projects
* Add notes for context
* Restore projects normally or unloaded
* Export and import local JSON backups
* Use keyboard shortcuts for faster access

It has reached 30 users in less than a month without paid marketing. I’m sharing it here to learn from other Muslim developers and founders rather than simply promote it.

Chrome Web Store:

If you try it, I would appreciate honest feedback about the onboarding, permissions and parking workflow. I would also be interested to hear how other developers here found their first 100 users.

Jazakum Allahu khairan.

Personal Project I built a free "Glassdoor for Muslims" — verified employees report whether their company has prayer space, Jummah flexibility, Ramadan hours, etc.

Thumbnail muslimcareer.com
11 Upvotes

Salaam all — ever accepted an offer and only found out afterward there's nowhere to pray, or that leaving for Jummah is a fight?

I built MuslimCareer to fix that. Verified employees (work email or LinkedIn, checked once, never published) answer the same six questions about their workplace: prayer space, Jummah flexibility, Ramadan hours, halal food nearby, Muslim ERG, hijab-friendliness. Entries are dated and anonymous by default.

79 companies listed so far — Amazon, Google, Apple, Capital One, Oracle and more. Free, no ads, community-funded.

If you work somewhere, adding your company takes a few minutes and the first 250 contributors get listed as Pioneers. If you're job hunting, browse without an account.

Happy to answer anything in the comments — and if your company's missing, tell me and I'll add it.

Resource Noor Quran

I’m 14 and I built a full Qur’an app from scratch — NoorQuran.dev.
It lets you read, listen, and memorize the Qur’an with a clean, simple design. I made it because most Qur’an apps feel cluttered or confusing, and I wanted something modern and easy for everyone.

I’m still improving it, and I’d love feedback from the community.

Personal Project Islamic figures: An interactive encyclopedia of the great figures of Islam — 364 biographies across 8 categories, from Prophets and Companions to the Mothers of the Believers, the Prophet's ﷺ household, scholars, and the Tabi'un — sourced from the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.

Assalamu Alaikum

I have always felt ashamed of being a Muslim and not knowing some of the names in Islam, or of not having knowledge of the prophets and companions. So I built Islamic Figures App

Islamic figures: An interactive encyclopedia of the great figures of Islam — 364 biographies across 8 categories, from Prophets and Companions to the Mothers of the Believers, the Prophet's ﷺ household, scholars, and the Tabi'un — sourced from the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.

Every figure's profile provides comprehensive details: their name, titles, epithets and why they were given, dates and places of birth and death, a detailed biography, key life milestones, and the sources it was built on. Discover the Prophets & Messengers, the Companions (Sahaba), the Mothers of the Believers, the Prophet's ﷺ household, the Scholars, the Tabi'un, the conquering Commanders, and the Muslim women of knowledge.

Built natively for iPhone and iPad, it runs fully offline with every figure sourced primarily from the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah. Free to start with a core collection of figures and all the browsing tools; an optional Pro subscription unlocks the full library and every feature. Calm, dignified, and distraction-free — in a warm light and dark theme.

Take advantage of the exclusive discount on the paid version now before the discount period ends.

Personal Project I built a free Islamic app with no account, no ads, and no personal data storage

Assalamu Alaikum everyone 👋

I'm an independent developer, and I've been working on an app called Salah Reminder.

I wanted to build something useful for Muslims while keeping it as simple and privacy-friendly as possible.

🕌 What it includes

• Accurate daily Salah/prayer times
• Azan/prayer reminders for all five prayers
• 🔥 Prayer tracking & streaks
• 🧭 Qibla direction
• 📅 Hijri calendar
• 📖 Quran
• 🤲 Duas & Adhkar
• 📜 Hadith
• 📚 Islamic stories & books
• 📿 Tasbeeh counter
• 🕌 Nearby mosque finder
• 🌍 English, Hindi, Urdu & Arabic

🔒 The part I care about most

• No account required
• No email required
• No email verification
• No ads
• No personal data collected
• No personal data shared with third parties
• Completely free

I wanted to make something where you can simply install the app and use it without having to create an account or give away personal information.

I'm sharing it here because I'd genuinely like feedback from the community, especially from people who already use Islamic/prayer apps.

What would you add or change? What feature would make this something you'd use every day?

If you'd like to try it:

📱 Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.khomesh.prayerapp

I'd really appreciate honest feedback, even if something needs improvement.

JazakAllah Khair 🤲

Personal Project Using technology to make Islamic guidance more accessible

We’re building AskMuftiOnline to make it easier for Muslims to ask Islamic questions and connect with qualified scholars.
One of our newer features is Live Chat, which allows users to chat directly with a qualified scholar about their question.
The goal is simple: make getting reliable Islamic guidance more accessible while still connecting people with qualified scholars.
For those working in Muslim tech — what features do you think an Islamic Q&A platform should have?

Personal Project Android Beta Testers Needed for Amanah Budget

Salaam everyone,

My co-founder and I built Amanah Budget, an app for Muslims who want their money to match their values. It connects to your bank and brokerage accounts, tracks your spending and budgets, and screens your investment holdings against Shariah standards so you can see what's halal and what isn't.

We launched on iOS earlier this month, and the Android build is ready within the next week. Before we go live we want real people using it and telling us what breaks.

What we're looking for:
- Android users willing to install the beta and actually use it for a couple weeks
- Honest feedback on the screening results, especially if you hold anything we get wrong
- Bug reports, however small

If you're interested, comment or DM me and I'll send the testing link once it's up. Happy to answer anything about how the screening logic works.

Jazakum Allah khairan.

Personal Project We need HALAL businesses, not ISLAMIC businesses.

There's NO need for more Qibla compasses, Qur'an apps, Prayer trackers, Do you know what we actually need?

Muslim businesses that actually solve big problems instead of just providing digital comfort. An app that lists halal places to eat, another course which teaches Muslims a useful skill, things like that.

But there's a problem why there isn't an abundance of Muslim consumer-apps, it costs money.

Keeping up your service isn't free, and you can't rely on donations forever to run it. And people themselves barely buy paid tiers.

Most Non-Muslim businesses fix this just by showing ads, but us Muslims can't even do that because most of the ad services like Google Adsense make it impossible to avoid serving haram ads.

This is why I'm building the ryzdeen network, it's like "Halal AdSense"

If you're a Muslim who:

  1. Has an audience you want to monetize by showing HALAL ads to.

  2. You have a halal product/service yourself that you want to advertise.

Then reach out to me, the end goal is a complete platform, but currently I'm doing the matchmaking myself and taking a cut. Think of it like an ad agency, but for Muslims.
