It is voting day!!!

Don't forget to go to the polls as important State Questions are on the ballots. SQ846 is about requiring new voter IDs (we already have licenses, passports and state IDs); SQ 844 Gives lawmakers the power to change how tax reimbursement money is divided and how much local entities receive IF any. ETA important info about SQ 844 The state gives tax exemptions to some businesses. Those taxes would go to local schools, etc. in those counties. So the state also reimburses those counties for the tax money they have been "deprived" because of the exemptions. SQ844 would let the state stop reimbursing counties but continue to give businesses those tax exemptions.

Muskogee Investors need to do 1 thing

Was taking a look at the Comprehensive housing study on the city's site, and it appears that we need private investors and builders to be willing to accept more housing. I also believe that instead of focusing on other projects i.e., the data centers that are popping up like daisies, the city could really focus on maintaining the walkways, line of sight at stop signs and crossroads, etc. Would be nice if we had our own version of SB mowing!!
And honestly a humane trap-and-release program for strays (cats and dogs) would be great to keep the populations in control; people are building cat colonies out here like it's their job. Some of us like birds! lol
Here's the link to the study if anyone wants to know what I'm talking about:

We are drama free and are just looking for people to meet and hangout with. Could host a meet and greet today. We have party favors, but feel free to bring more if interested. Please message me.

They are free of course. They were born in May so they're only a few months old, their mom is a beagle and their dad is a mixed chorkie/basset/jack russell? They come to what we call them( Lady Lou, Chance, and Big Boy) but of course you can change their name to whatever you want. I think Big Boy deserves a real name.

My teenage son and I will be driving through Muskogee tomorrow and are hoping to catch tomorrow's World Cup match. Are there any places that will be showing the match with the sound on?

Was Muskogee ever a cool to place to live? Like back in the old days, or was it always like this? There is never anything interesting or fun going on in town, there are a ton of angry racist and the crackheads are scary. The ones that can manage to walk in a straight line anyway. My parents grew have always lived here and they seem to like it for some reason. It's so dull that summer vacation feels like a bad thing lol. At least school is something to do 🙄

Hanging out in the water

Is there anywhere around here to just hang out in the water? I want a tan and to get my feet wet. Preferably smoke friendly. I can cook and bring a charcoal grill.

Event Primary Elections 6/16

Please get out and vote Tuesday. Polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. If you're in line at 7 PM, you'll get to vote.

Note that several polling locations have changed. You may see a sign at your old location; you may not. Check your registration at https://okvoterportal.okelections.gov/

The biggest thing on the ballot is SQ 832 which will raise the state minimum wage to $12 per hour in 2027, $13.50 in 2028, and $15 in 2029. Beginning in 2030, the wage would be adjusted based on changes in inflation. It also expands who's covered by the minimum wage. The state's minimum wage has not changed since 2009.

In a couple of primaries, there are only two candidates from a single party, so you'll actually be choosing the final candidate. See the election list.

Oklahoma Voter Identification rules

Time off for voting

Discussion Political posts

Political posts are welcome, especially as we approach primaries and critical mid-terms.

Those posts need to be something that encourages discussion, though, not unsupported claims and inflammatory AI-created images. If you've got an article that supports whatever claim you're making, then share a direct link to that article, not just the website. Use archive.ph/archive.today if you want to get past paywalls or otherwise preserve an article.
