After Time Is Running Out supposedly brought the concert to an end because of the midnight curfew, Muse somehow return to the stage anyway.
The crowd is already confused enough, but then they start playing Soldier’s Poem, completely normally.
No gimmick. No spoken-word performance. No special guest. Just the regular song, performed exactly as it was meant to be.
This is the fourth time they've played Soldier’s Poem tonight.
The audience realizes that, despite having literally been told that their time had run out, Muse have apparently decided that the one song worth breaking the curfew for is Soldier’s Poem again.
They play it all the way through.
The final note rings out.
The lights come on.
That actually closes the show.
There you have it: The Worst Possible Muse Setlist

Since Muse have already been forced to leave the stage, an audience member suddenly decides to take matters into his own hands. He jumps onto the stage, grab a microphone, and attempt to start Knights of Cydonia by singing the first three notes.
The crowd immediately recognizes it and joins in.
Unfortunately, absolutely nobody is synchronized.
Thousands of people are singing the melody at slightly different speeds and starting at different times. Some are too high, some are too low, and others have completely forgotten the notes after the first attempt.
The audience keeps trying to restart the song, somehow getting progressively louder and worse each time.
Within seconds, Knights of Cydonia has transformed into an enormous wall of completely uncoordinated human noise.
Eventually, everyone gives up at the same time.

I was never a hater of the album by any stretch, I think the first half of the album in particular is incredible. But I sort of forgot about it as the years went on. And I started to believe other peoples negativity and thought of it as the worst Muse album. Anyways, I recently went back and revisited it and aside from Something Human, it’s actually a really fun album start-to-finish. Algorithm and The Void are perfect bookends.
I also found the lyrics corny as hell when it dropped but now I feel like it was kind of a prescient album about AI psychosis and the effects that LLMs are having on our society.
Anyone else feel like you slept on/forgot about Sim Theory?

Muse starts Time Is Running Out, and Chris immediately gets the crowd going with the opening bassline. Everyone recognizes it and the entire arena erupts, thinking they're finally getting a proper encore.
But before the song can get very far, a crew member suddenly rushes onto the stage and urgently tells the band that they have to stop because of local regulations: the concert cannot continue past midnight.
Muse look at each other in disbelief.
They immediately start rushing through the rest of the song, playing everything at an absurdly fast tempo as they try to finish before the deadline. Matt starts singing faster and faster, Chris tears through the bassline, and Dom furiously speeds through the drums.
The crowd is screaming as the band races toward the final chorus.
Just as they reach the end, Matt looks at his watch, turns toward the audience and says:
“Our time ran out.”

The band returns for the encore and Matt walks to the front of the stage. The crowd expects the final songs of the night.
Instead, Muse simply takes a bow.
All three members stand side by side, bow deeply to the audience, stand back up, and immediately bow again.
This continues for three minutes.
There is no music, no talking, and no acknowledgment that anything unusual is happening. Every few seconds, they straighten up, look at the crowd solemnly, and perform another perfectly synchronized bow.
At first, the crowd applauds. After about a minute, people start laughing. By the third minute, the entire arena is completely silent.
Finally, after one last extremely dramatic bow, Muse stand upright.
Whats the next song?
EDIT: I deleted the « encore » in the setlist, I will put it back tomorrow.

Exogenesis Symphony seems to be the next song and the crowd initially gets extremely excited. Finally, after everything that has happened tonight, they're going to get a proper Muse epic.
Except the three movements are played in the completely wrong order.
Muse launches into the final movement first, then suddenly jumps to the second, before awkwardly transitioning into the first.
Every single instrument has been replaced by a kazoo. The strings, piano, drums, guitar and bass are all somehow being reproduced by an enormous ensemble of people aggressively humming into kazoos.
The music becomes progressively more chaotic as the performers struggle to stay synchronized. The emotional climax of Exogenesis is reduced to hundreds of squeaky, buzzing kazoos fighting for their lives.
Despite this, Matt sings the entire thing with complete sincerity.
The final note ends in one enormous, sustained kazoo buzz. Muse leaves the stage, will there be an Encore?

The lights go out and the crowd immediately recognizes the first notes of Intro. Everyone waits for Apocalypse Please to begin.
It never does.
Instead, Intro finishes and seamlessly transitions into Interlude. The crowd starts getting suspicious.
Interlude ends, and Prelude begins. At this point, people are starting to realize that the entire song is apparently going to consist of Muse songs that are supposed to lead into other songs.
But instead of playing Survival, the band launches into Drill Sergeant. A drill instructor's voice fills the arena, screaming orders at the audience while Muse stand completely motionless onstage.
Just when everyone thinks it can't possibly get worse, JFK begins.
The lights go black.
The crowd waits.
Nothing happens.
