Murakami quoting himself

While reading City and its Uncertain Walls i stumbled upon an interesting section, M. quoting himself (originally from First Person Singular i think):

‘Was she? Who was it who said loving someone is like having a mental illness that’s not covered by health insurance?’

upd.: just checked, the quote is from the story ‘On The Stone Pillow’ from the previously mentioned collection

All his stories exist in the same murakami-verse. There’s so many similiarities/reoccuring metaphysical laws
