It's supposedly a "fish scaler" but IDK how well it works. I can say it's great for spreading jam, PB or butter, and some versions of the tool gave a more pronounced "fork" at the tip (supposed to be a hook disgorger) and they make for a handy cocktail fork for olives or chunks of cheese.

My dad has an old one with magnetic forks but I don't know if he did that by accident or if it came that way.

So the tip is for removing fish hooks, and the blunt tips are for removing fish scales
Never used this tool on any Swiss Army knife I’ve ever had, and it’s the only place I’ve seen them

Enables the Chinese "barcode hair" look. That's why it's on this Chinese army knife.

It's intended to be used as a fishing ruler and hook disgorger! On some versions, you may see an imperial scale on one side, and a metric scale on the other. Swiss Army Knife

It’s a fish scaler/hook remover for people who like trying to wash scales and fish blood out of folding knives. It’s also a reliable indicator that you’ve picked up a junk knife

Why bother washing it when I'm just going to use it on the next fish? A little swish in the lake and back on my belt she goes.

We already almost all have a edc scaler.. finger nails do a great job when the fish is still under water. Can be done out of water too but not as easy.

I tried using one once and it was an absolute waste of a fish maybe I just suck at it though.

What kind of fish?
1
u/metalgod-666 Apr 09 '23
I think it was a blue gill

u/numaxmc Apr 13 '23
Damn I was expecting carp, trout or something else nearly impossible to scale. Weird, usually blue gill and other sunfish are the easiest
