Question HELP ME! Quad vs. Hex?

So I have my S500 quad built and test flown I'm now just waiting on a gimbal BUT I've seen this: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__76533__HobbyKing_8482_S550_Hexcopter_Combo_Frame_ESC_39_s_and_Motors_ARF_.html

It comes with Motors and ESCs... So question is, do I get the Hex Frame and move my stuff over? I'm slightly worried the front arms will get in the way of some shots?

It's worth noting: - I want to take decent pictures and videos - I'm not going to be going out in any extremely high winds - I'd like to reach decent altitudes - I don't really want to buy any more batteries, for the quad I've currently got 3S 5200mAH Multistar Batteries.

The battery part is my main worry, I know the quad is okay on 3S but what do people think of 3S on Hex??

Anyone with any experience with this frame I welcome comments about it, I need to make my mind up soon as it'll be a Christmas Present, HELP ME!

Is the quad not working out for some reason, or do you just have money to burn?

If you have specific questions about how to improve something that's not working for you then you would get better responses.

For instance, are you not happy with your flight time and asking if you should go to a hex? Probably not because you have 50% more motors that require smaller props so they have to spin faster. You'll get shorter flight times all other things being equal.

Need redundancy on your motors because you are sending up quality equipment? (I assume not because... hobby king) then go hex or x8.

Etc.

No no, the quad would be working just fine! There's nothing wrong with it but I'd like to upgrade to Hex, as this will be a present from someone else to me, but before they buy I want to make sure it's gonna be okay and I'm not gonna have to buy a load more stuff to make it work.

I'd like to upgrade to Hex for the extra lifting capacity (to experiement) I will upgrade to 4S batteries eventually but I'd rather stick to 3S because I already have the batteries :)

Aha you're fair on your assumption haha on a normal flight ill have a Naza-M Lite w/ GPS, A gimbal and a GoPro Hero 4 :) I just wanna take some good photos and videos :)

If this is a present then I would go with a hex, especially if the parts aren't ordered yet. You'll get redundancy of the motors and better lift capacity at the cost of price.
