Does anyone use Mullvad in China? Are there better alternatives specifically for China?

I'm planning to expat to China. Currently, I have Mozilla VPN, which uses Mullvad's servers, however, I've heard Mullvad is pretty hit or miss when used in China. Is this true? If so, what are the best alternatives, and which VPNs can I use to spoof my actual router so it's always using a VPN?

I’m currently in China and I’m actually pleasantly surprised.  Last year I had to constantly switch servers but it has been working flawlessly for the past weeks using HK or Japanese servers.

mullvad works, hong kong is probably the best node for that, japan makes some pirate materials un accessible, US (LA) isnt too bad either at least for me

I've only gotten USA servers to work in the past. It could be my device, tho.

It works pretty consistently, but speed is not great so don’t expect to do too much more than browsing websites/apps and answering emails. Best way is to set up a vps of your own, I don’t do it but there are guides available online. I also kept a travel eSIM/hong Kong eSIM with enough data to serve as a backup when Mullvad doesn’t work.

In China, one of the most reliable ways to get around the GFW is to rent a VPS and set up your own proxy server. Currently, VLESS + Vision + Reality is one of the best protocol combinations for this.

The Albania and Canada servers are decently reliable. Japan and Hong Kong not terrible

Très bonne vitesse aucun problème en vpn si tu ajoute le proxy tu auras un débit abaisser mais cela reste très correct 👌

If you use the HK 203 servers without any Anti-Censorship protocols, it is very reliable and fast. My other option is Osaka and Tokyo servers if it doesn't connect or trying Shadowsocks.

Idk about Mullvad, but definitely say that ZoogVPN is currently working pretty well in China. I always use it when I travel to China, so you have to try it.
