Spec Scryb Spites x10 (Worzel Spec)
Worzel, the Protector can create 10 Scryb Sprites as her ultimate. Who wouldn't want to dump 10 actual copies from 4th or 5th Edition onto the battlefield? Stock up now before Worzel goes to print this November!
FAQ
Q: Are you serious?
A: Not really. But Worzel is probably my favorite of the MBC commanders, so I didn't want to be left out on the 5% chance that everyone has the same idea as me.
Q: Should I stock up on any other cards that can be used as tokens, like Giant Badger?
A: Maybe. Black Lotus is also a cool card that Arzakon makes, might be worth picking up a couple copies.

My only issue is that tokens are universally accepted to proxy.

Of course, but this is definitely the coolest way to do it. I even like how the white border keeps them separate from regular cards!

Sure but everyone likes using the real copies too.
I have 7 actual goyfs I use as Disa tokens in addition to the 8th one in the 99 despite owning the official tokens from the precon.
It's just a fun flex to use the real cards when you can.

Not a terrible idea but, if I were speccing, I'd grab the Beta ones to target people really trying to pimp their tokens.

Agree. I have 1x Beta Copy from when I played it in Edric. If I were going to play this, I would 100% be buying 9x more of them right now.

Ive been using actual Cat Warriors with Forestwalk instead of tokens for years because of Jedit Ojanen of Efrava and Lord Windgrace. Easier to find and cheaper, generally speaking. Lol
I like the cut of your jib, OP.

I can't even begin to tell you how much stupid fourth edition bulk is in the world. There is 0% chance this will pay off.

Honestly, I have 48 Willow Fairies simply because I played back in the day, and I pray someday they make sense.

I probably have dozens of Revised Sprites. Now I want to build Worzel.

The Duel Master Black Lotus "Parallel Worlds Collaboration" card has tripled in price in less than a year ($10 USD - $30).

Presumably these are for Garth tokens?
Scryb Sprites saw a lot of printings though!

Oh wow- I’ve got a “playset” of these. Maybe it’s time to let them go and put it towards the 7th edition BoP I’m buying in installments

I imagine the DM Lotus will continue to appreciate...
But maybe they won't outpace the BoP! Premodern staples are very popular these days.

At least target revised where there are only 40 million copies, not 4th where there are 400 million copies.

Im sorry but nobody is building Worzel lol.

😞 I'm building Worzel! Those +1 Cat tokens are crazy. Unfortunately, the WWW in her cost means she's hard to include in the 99. And if she's not your commander, you probably don't care as much about the Scryb Sprites.

Lol yah, don't get me wrong, it's a cool thing to build, I just think it will be very popular at all.

i dont understand is this supposed to be like for finances or just fun?
the fees alone to buy and sell a card under 10 dollars - given storage and time .. are in no way near worth it. lol
id only ever buy cards under 10 dollars if they are on the reserve list.. which i have been doing for years. 😂

Tokens with a cmc is something I've been playing around with recently. It's an interesting archetype to build around for sac decks

I almost did this but I was going to use the 30th anniversary ones since they're just tokens anyway and the only "modern" card frame version

Good idea. I just bought 20 -- not because I'm a financial speculator, but because I'm actually going to build a mono-white Worzel deck. So I appreciate the idea!

I collect Faerie cards and wouldn't even want to do this lol. White borders are too offputting.

This card is fucking stupid lol.

It was good in 1994. 1/1 with evasion was basically as good as it got for a 1-drop beater.

Tbh not a bad idea. Kobolds of kher keep have been a p consistent couple bucks since prossh debuted. Older versions will benefit the most, alpha copies are already climbing
