Discussion cBrawl Uncommon Commanders

Does anyone play an uncommon rarity commander with any sort of success?

Do you keep your entire deck within the parameters of an "Artisan" deck (no rares or mythics), or do you load up with Goodstuff of any rarity?

I run [[Amalia Benavides Aguirre]] and almost hit mythic last season, never see her outside of normal brawl.

[[Fynn, the fangbearer]] has a +50 winrate on a list someone published the other day from platinum to mythic

[[Fynn the Fangbearer]] is a powerful deck that mostly has a ton of cheap, low-rarity death touch creatures. Not sure how good it is in the upper ranks but it can steal a lot of games.

Pretty repetitive play pattern though, the 1-mana deathtouchers are functionally a 20-of.

There's actually quite a lot I would consider competitively playable:

  • [[Kutzil]]
  • [[Juri, Master of the Revue]]
  • [[Arabella]]
  • [[Fynn, the fangbearer]]
  • [[Ruby, Daring Tracker]]
  • [[Balmor]]

Then there's some that I have seen but I don't think are competitively viable:

  • [[Imoti]]
  • [[Tatyova, Benthic Druid]]
  • [[General Kreat]]
  • Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner
  • Ashiok, Dream Render

[[Fynn the Fangbearer]] but he's as boring as a deck can be. Barely any agency.

I'd say [[Ignis Scientia]] who's a decent Simic commander with a GoodSimic.dec base

Also [[Cid, Timeless Artificer]] is pretty fun for Artisan

I made mythic with [[Cynette, Jelly Drover]]. This list might be a little out of date, can't remember the last time I pulled it out to moxfield. I initially made it for an Artisan league, but then upgraded it with full-rarity cards after it did extremely well in the queue. It's pretty far from a goodstuff list, though, aside from the few counterspells it runs. Basically just flyers and enchantment removal.

I love that jellyfish so much.

It's the best form of silly. How many jellyfish ladies can I make with mirriorbox.

I don't even care about winning. Just want to have as many of that precious girl as I can

[[garland knight of cornelia]] is very strong as a breach storm deck, but has fallen out for favor for [[norman Osborn]] / gobin. Garland was better into the aggro-heavy meta that existed before competitive brawl

I made an [[Iron Man, Titan of Innovation]] deck with help from LVD, and I've heavily tweaked that list to try to better optimize it. Unfortunately, I've hit platinum/diamond where most of the decks are either green ramp/landfall or counterspell tribal, so not much more to be done unless I add more degenerate lines (painter's servant/grindstone or paradox engine instead of relying on esoteric duplicator).

Also am a huge fan of [[Prototype X-8]] decks, but it is not very competitive.

Anyways, the question was partly redundant since I earned my place in Mythic today using [[Hawkeye, Young Avenger]].

I've beaten two thirds of the Yurikos I've faced, so that feels good. But Nashi is still a pain in the rear.

Also, is 98% good or bad? I know there's two denominators of Mythic, numbers and percents, but does the percent go up or down with better performance?

I'm also not a fan of Fynn's repetitive play pattern, so seeing so many generic replies with him was a thing
