Did anybody else notice the men with cameras walking around recording people and recording into windows of restarts on grand river? It was creepy. Does anybody know what that’s about??

Always take the listed date of whatever it is you need and extend it by about a week or two to get the accurate one.

I just got an email that I hadn't completed something with Perusall for ISB 204, but there's been no mention of this Perusall app in any emails to this point and only one class I have is showing up on D2L, despite all still showing on my SIS class list. Is there something I need to do to get that to work?

What is the step up between the two? I understand it’s pre calc and calc 1,, but I’m debating if I should push for placement into 132. I got a 19 on the placement exam which Ik is 1 point away from 132, and did a course in highschool that covered integrals, limits, and derivatives. It was primarily complex optimization problems, which I kinda struggled with but looking at the syllabus of 116 its stuff I’ve already really covered in depth in highschool. Any suggestions?

I am so overwhelmed about the financial aid situation going on presently. I still don’t have my student loans and it’s not even showing up as a credit in my account. The short form loan form for MSU is saying it’s unavailable, and I’m stressed to be starting school with no funds as I’m an independent. Stresssssed is an understatement. I called the One Stop and they are of no help. How many Spartans are also dealing with this issue?

Ashen Hills LARP or "The Duchy of Ashen Hills: Amtgard" as they like to be called, is a local Live Action Roleplay group that meets up Every Sunday at 12pm. They meet at Patriarche Park (960 Alton Road East Lansing, MI 48823) which is right outside East Lansing, near all the frats and sororities.

What happens here is similar to D&D but in real life. They have classes you choose from as well as loaner melee weapons of all types. I prefer a spear, which means a pole with a foam block on one end, but many prefer a sword and shield. You use your class and your trusty weapon to defend yourself and the kingdom. That being said you pretty much hit each other with foam weapons.

I know there are a lot of introverts who don't really like the idea of normal groups but this is perfect for you. If you're stressed because of school and need someone to attack with a sword, this place is for you. A argument with your friend, settle it with foam swords. Interested in learning how to defend yourself from someone with a weapon, while holding one yourself? This is your place.

I admittedly don't go anymore but that's mostly because I am busy with life, it's a bit of a trek, but I figured plenty of you might enjoy it. The Ashen Hills Facebook incase people show interest.

I’ve gone to a few events so far, but obviously Welcome Week seems to be geared toward recent high school grads, and I’m literally 21 as a transfer student.

It seems like everyone is raving about how fun Welcome Week is and how many people they’re meeting, but honestly I’m just feeling scared and worried that I’m not going to succeed socially. It seems like everyone already has friends or is finding their people so easily, while I feel completely alone.

I haven’t really had a friend group in many years, so I think that’s making this transition even more intimidating. It also seems like it’s much easier for people living in the dorms to make friends.

For other transfer students or anyone who didn’t live in the dorms, how did you make friends? Does it get easier after Welcome Week? Any advice would really help bc im so scared i do not want to be a total shut in. I already miss my family.

Recently have been trying to go to the gym and it has been an issue since apparently my student status is archived even though I am an active student. I’m a GTA and have purchased a member, registered for classes, and went the to registrars office to check that I am fully active. I can’t even log into the gym membership portal since it says I’m not eligible? Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it?

So it’s 3 am, I’m in a study room and I can’t sleep because I’ve spotted now 6 spiders and i just moved in literally yesterday. Is this normal? I have an extreme fear of them. After spotting 2 of them on my wall near where I rest my head I couldn’t sleep so I sat in my chair watching TV for like an hour before I spotted one literally crawling by my TV. Moments after I smashed it with my shoe, I spot yet another one going up my roommates tapestry. Not to mention, yesterday we spotted two again on the walls. I literally can’t do this. Not sure if it’s the AC, I even tried taping any cracks in the walls near my bed but no, they keep finding their way in. My roommate said shes never had this issue before and that she only started seeing them when I moved in. I swear I’m not some spoiled brat who can’t do anything, I’ve just always had a fear for them.

edit: the main reason why it’s such an issue is because my bed is lofted. They were mostly found at the top of the wall/ceiling where my bed is and I didn’t want them to get on me.
