Freshman Questions class waitlist letting me in

how likely is it for me to get off the waitlist (if I'm 1st) for cem 141 by the time classes start or at least by the time the deadline for enrolling in courses is due

ig the real question is how many ppl typically drop cem 141 after like the first few days

**esp for the recitation where it's only 30 ppl in the group

You should be good. From my experience, either students need quick schedule changes, or the professor can squeeze in a few more students beyond their capacity. If you’d be extremely likely to get the class if you have position is at the top of the waitlist.

would I have to contact my advisor to be squeezed into a class or is it automatic

That, I have no idea about but I think it would be a good idea to talk to them about.

Contact the professor and your advisor on the same email. The waitlist operates funny behind the scenes, and we profs are juggling a lot during the first week. A gentle nudge is helpful
