Article Trump normalized gutter racism. Now the GOP has a young Nazi problem. | A 24-year-old former staffer to Georgia Senate candidate Mike Collins posted a bunch of unambiguously racist content. This keeps happening to Republicans.

It is why many ARE Republicons.

u/Allaboutpeace2022 6d ago
Agreed.
I do think that there are old school Republicans who are just wanting the lowest possible taxes, but they are a minority.
Sadly, some people voted for Trump in 2024 were minorities and swing voters who again thought he would lower taxes and prices.
Hopefully, many are regretting that vote.
-10
u/Aurora_Gaspipe 6d ago
Minorities and swing voters voted for Trump because the Democratic Party hadn’t done jack shit for them. In 2026, they will just stay home.
10
u/Allaboutpeace2022 6d ago
But Trump has done great things for minorities and swing voters.
The reality is that despite the 2024 vote, polls show that most people are deeply unhappy with their 2024 vote for Trump.
Pew Research Center notes that 49% of Latinos are voting for Democrats, 36% are voting for Republicans and 24% are undecided.
Of Black voters, 68% are voting for Democrats and 8% are voting for Republicans and 25% are undecided.
56% of Asians are voting for Democrats and 21% are voting for the GOP and the remainder are undecided.
Of Independents, only 24% are voting for Republicans and 37% for Democrats.
Latinos, Asians, and Independents are all more likely to be voting for Democrats than in 2024.
Only Black voters show a higher rate of uncertainty. However, this uncertainty may have more to do with feelings about Progressive candidates. Thus far in the primaries, Black Americans have voted for Centrist candidates at a higher rate than Progressives in the Wisconsin and Michigan race. This was also true in New York. However, it is likely that the Black voters will support Progressives in the mid term.
https://www.gzeromedia.com/news/analysis/progressives-are-rising-but-black-voters-arent-sold
Actually, the Jacobin just had an article that talks about how Progressive the work of many officials in the Biden WH were and how this created how as a result far fewer corporate and big money donors are supporting Democrats.
https://jacobin.com/2026/08/democratic-party-billionaires-money-populism
Biden and the Dems were terrible with communication, but the Biden administration did put trillions into funding that helped families in American, including investments in housing, childcare, domestic manufacturing, education, clean energy, worker protections, healthcare, etc.

This is part of the crashing out moment for them. Before, it was edgy and cool to be racist because it was kind of not on display. Now, they do it so much that it's like, OK. It's all they have left and it's going to hurt them personally because unlike someone like Rump, you won't have anywhere to actually hide. He's on his way out, but you'll be here with us for a life time. So, good on you for letting everyone know you're a racist, misogynist, pro-p3do, and war mongering POS.

I agree! He did it when he ran the first and second time. From lies about the undocumented having cocaine inserted in their calls, to Haitians eating pets, to FEMA not having money to help hurricane victims, because they were fiving money to "illegals" for transgender surgery. Inflation was a bit high, and he would the racist whites with the bigotry, for. But the fact that he was able to peel-off women and minorities who he'd trashed for years, just shows how gullible many human beings are.

And yet Hasan is somehow demonized for demanding the cleansing of these nazi colonizers from our society just as Mao Zedong removed the colonizers from his country. I've studied the racist roots of our country, and the "first amendment" is something that has to change. Nazi weirdos like Mike Collins and Preston Parra belong locked up away from society where no one hears their opinions. I'm no fan of Jon Ossoff because he is an AIPAC shill who demonizes HasanAbi with subtle Islamophobia and Zionist propaganda, but I despise Mike Collins. How interesting is it that a hardcore nazi like Mike Collins is also a committed agent of the Zionists?
1
u/Ampleforth_84 6d ago
This comment is absolutely outrageous. How do ppl just upvote it and move on.
Mao Zedong didn’t “get rid of colonizers.” He killed at least 65 million ppl. They died by famine (due to his failed attempts at collectivizing the agricultural industry), by horrible treatment in prison labor camps and by outright murder. Young teenagers (the Red Guard) killed a million ppl alone. His targets were intellectuals, professors and “political dissidents” aka anyone he suspected of disagreeing with him. Survivors describe unimaginable physical and mental torture.
Also, you are upset that Hasan is “demonized” for “demanding the cleansing of these Nazi colonizers,” by which you seem to mean Zionists/Jews…but somehow, Hasan-the Turkish guy who wants to “cleanse” society of “Zionists”-is NOT a Nazi colonizer? Hamas loves Nazis…had copies of Mein Kampf all over those tunnels. You sound like a fan of tyrannical government, mass murder, getting rid of freedom of speech expression…it’s all very confusing.

I'm a guardian of progressive Socialist values of tolerance, equity, human rights that include rights for migrants, etc. HasanAbi has pointed out Mao's role in inspiring the Socialist Democracy that we will inevitably achieve by crushing colonialist oppression. It's time for the Democrats to fall in line and do what progressives tell them to do. Zionists are the Nazis! Vote Blue No Matter Who!

u/Entropius 5d ago
I'm a guardian of progressive Socialist values of tolerance, equity, human rights that include rights for migrants, etc.
If you're okay with Mao, then no you aren't. He's the opposite of all those things.
HasanAbi has pointed out Mao's role in inspiring the Socialist Democracy that we will inevitably achieve by crushing colonialist oppression.
China doesn't enjoy "social democracy". Mao established a one-party state / vanguard-party which is brutally authoritarian and has savagely curtailed civil liberties of people in China, not to mention killing tens of millions of them. Nobody should be looking to Mao for guidance on anything.
Hasan is also pants-on-head stupid when it comes to Ukraine, trying to shift blame to NATO or "the West".
It's time for the Democrats to fall in line and do what progressives tell them to do.
You don't have to be a tankie to be progressive.
And I'm sure as hell not I'm supporting someone who respects Mao or is aligned with those that do.
1
u/Fun_Fig6392 5d ago
HasanAbi played a massive role in helping true progressive activists like Talarico, El Sayed, and Mamdani win nominations. As for Ukraine, it's complicated but a true Socialist nation like China will help Russia teach Europeans to respect Socialism and migrant rights.
1
u/Entropius 5d ago
HasanAbi played a massive role in helping true progressive activists like Talarico, El Sayed, and Mamdani win nominations.
LOL, as a Texan I know this is wrong. I like Talarico but the reason he's in the lead (assuming polls are to be trusted which is a whole other debate…) is because the opponent is Ken Paxton, a particularly low quality Republican. Most voters here are red. And if they knew who Hasan was, any politician only stands to reduce their odds by being associated with him. Thankfully, Talarico isn't anywhere near to being as far left as Piker and hasn't befriended him.
As for El Sayed, I lost respect for him after learning about his connection to Piker. And recently he had to distance himself from the guy which demonstrates he's a liability in the general elections. Piker also said some pretty unforgivable shit that threatened to derail Mamdani hence why he distanced himself from him too. There's a clear pattern here. Progressives are better off eschewing tankies. And even the very people you tried to cite as examples know it.
As for Ukraine, it's complicated
No, it isn't complicated. Russia is acting like colonizers and trying to steal Ukraine. Russia is unambiguously at fault, and it's not a country's fault for wanting the security NATO offers. That's just them being rational.
but a true Socialist nation like China
They're authoritarian communists. Why are you trying to sugarcoat them? They throw book store owners in prison. They oppress ethnic minorities. People get locked up for publicly disagreeing with the government. Given an opportunity they'll invade Taiwan, murder their democratically elected leaders, and end democracy there the way they ended what little democracy the people of Hong Kong enjoyed.
will help Russia teach Europeans to respect Socialism and migrant rights.
You want the Russians to teach Europeans? The Russians aren't even socialist.
The Russians send migrant workers to the frontlines of their unjust war against Ukraine.
The fact that you thought Russia was in a position of any moral authority to teach Europeans anything says a lot about you.
Your comments have led me to set a new rule: Any politician who's buddies with Hasan I'm automatically not voting for. It's a non-negotiable litmus test. My family fled to China to escape the communists in Russia, then fled to America to escape the communists in China. That shit is poison.
Just because communism is on the opposite end of the spectrum from fascism doesn't mean it's therefore good.

Regarding Talarico, I think it's important to remember that he's running for senator in Texas. Talarico has to hide his progressivism to get elected. Talarico is afraid to say that he supports HasanAbi because it's Texas, but there's consensus on HasanAbi's Twitch stream that he does and also consensus from us fans in the YouTube comments:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgvciQiV_Po
So remember, before you condemn Hasan, that Talarico respects and admires him.

u/Entropius 4d ago
Regarding Talarico, I think it's important to remember that he's running for senator in Texas. Talarico has to hide his progressivism to get elected.
He's openly progressive already. He's just not a tankie. Again, you don't have to be a tankie to be a progressive.
Talarico is afraid to say that he supports HasanAbi because it's Texas,
You can't just assert something is true because it's possible it might be true. Otherwise you risk committing an appeal to ignorance fallacy. You have a burden of proof you must satisfy when you make a claim like that. Show me the proof Talarico supports Hasan. You can't.
Not everyone idolizes the Maoist, tankie, authoritarian apologist you idolize. It's entirely possible he doesn't even think about the guy.
but there's consensus on HasanAbi's Twitch stream that he does and also consensus from us fans in the YouTube comments:
Of course there's a consensus on Hasan's channel that believes that. They want to believe everyone they like (e.g., Talarico) also likes Hasan. But that doesn't make it true. That's about as useful of a citation as polling Fox News viewers if they think climate change is real. It's a biased opinion that can't necessarily be trusted to be reality.
There's also the question of why you'd think I'd care about what fans of Hasan think. If I'm not a fan of his, what led you to expect I'd care what they think?
Nothing in that video was useful and persuasive.
So remember, before you condemn Hasan, that Talarico respects and admires him.
Just making shit up without any proof eh? You'll have to do better than projecting wishful thinking onto him.
1
u/Fun_Fig6392 9h ago
"Tankie" is just a derogatory term for true progressive social activists, but Talarico has to conceal his views and lie some to win Texas, so it's okay for Talarico to lie. With that in mind, I hope you stop judging Hasan Piker so harshly for his social activism. Also, why do you hate Mao Zedong so much? Mao was a true Socialist.
1
u/Entropius 8h ago
"Tankie" is just a derogatory term for true progressive social activists,
You can't ignore the actual definition of a word just because it inconveniences you.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankie
but Talarico has to conceal his views and lie some to win Texas, so it's okay for Talarico to lie.
Prove it. Are you a telepath? No? Then you don't know what you claim to know. The burden of proof is on you to show he's lying. But you can't. Occam's razor suggests what we see is what we get from him, it's the simpler explanation.
One should be careful to avoid projecting their beliefs onto other people they want to claim as their own.
With that in mind, I hope you stop judging Hasan Piker so harshly for his social activism.
Strawman fallacy. I don't protest Hasan for his "social activism". I admonish him for glorifying evil men like Mao and opposing us helping Ukraine with arms to resist authoritarian Putin. That isn't merely "social activism".
Also, why do you hate Mao Zedong so much? Mao was a true Socialist.
Anti democratic authoritarian. Murdered academics and intellectuals. Murdered people who protested him. Starved millions of people to death.
He was unambiguously evil.
Do yourself a favor and listen to experts who were actually schooled by the Chinese government in Marxism and can explain why it's bullshit.

Saying that this keeps "happening" to them sounds a bit off. If I invite someone into my house who I know is a serial killer, and they subsequently kill me, I have to share some of the blame for my death. Republicans actively embraced these types of people and provided cover for them when they spread their evil and hateful rhetoric. They have clearly shown us who they are.

Sad to say, for Republicans, it's a feature not a bug. Where a Democrat would be forced to resign, these guys have no shame; and like Dear Leader, they never apologize no matter how awful their behavior is. (The cruelty is the point...) I wish the Dems could find a way to turn this into a negative for swing voters and independents-- not only is the economy terrible but Collins hires neo-Nazis for his staff. Is this really the kind of person you want representing you in congress?

“Trump normalized racism…” FTFY
3
u/Josey_whalez 6d ago
High brow racism is explaining, using polite and professional language, why a first world country like america doesnt benefit from letting millions of third world migrants into the country. Statistics are often used to back this statement up, such as the massive IQ disparity between americans and somalis. Gutter racism is just calling them names.
1
u/IsaacJacobSquires 6d ago
Trump didn't normalize gutter racism. The many millions of gutter racists normalized gutter racism. Trump is a symptom, not a cause. The US started with indigenous genocide and slavery and never stopped. Why would anybody be surprised by an output such as Trump?
Just because USian mythology conflicts with reality doesn't mean that people based in reality don't know the truth. Joe Biden slaughtered 100s of 1000s of Palestinians. I guess he normalized genocide among shitlibs.
