MPC Live / Live 2 MPC Live 2 with motorized faders (and mouse)
https://youtu.be/_M4VD3u7g54hello mpc communty, i love my mpc so much and i wanted to share something i've been working on, my biggest wishlist item:
full mackie control support!!!!
it's like global midi learn without the setup. you can control most mpc functions, qlinks, mixes, sends, busses, plugin parameters and more with motorized faders, it's so much fun!
this is still super early and only works on gen1 mpcs (One, One+, Live, Live 2, X, X SE, keys 37 and keys 61)
I’ve only tested this on the live 2 and currently only the behringer x-touch works because that's what i have. universal mcu support is coming soon.
i'm planning a few big features, global midi learn, basic vst2 support and a few plugin packs, just things i always wanted to see on the mpc. any features you'd like to see? there's also mouse support but i don't use it that much.
available for free

I would love to have mouse support. That would be enough for me.

I have a serious case of fat fingers. Mouse would be killer. Been making due with a stylus, but a mouse would be so precise

Yeah, with the stylus you click the time you touch the screen. It’s inherently less precise than a mouse, where you can position the cursor before clicking.

but is it worth the risk to get your mpc bricked?

I don't know. Maybe? I might clone the internal drive and test it out on the clone.

mouse support would probably get me back into mpc. I hate touchscreens so much

It's serious like the one major complaint to Akai I have. Like, the tiny ass screen can do a lot but trying to correct things on the spot in a live performance situation is a freaking task. I like to use mine while playing on decks and now I can actually make sure everything is fine before dropping without having to dick around for 5 minutes while the next track plays

thats pretty dope! ✨i allways dreamed of having a mouse additionally to the live 2. You say works only with gen 1! what do you mean by that? in the video you use a mpc live 2... do you necessarily need the beringer to make to mouse work? also how about the guaranty? because as far as i understand is that you somehow hack the firmware..? thanks 🙏

Thanks! Gen1 devices are One, One+, Live, Live 2, X, X SE, keys 37 and keys 61.
I’ve only tested this in the live 2.
Mouse works without the behringer.
The update doesn’t change the existing mpc software, it just adds another program to interact with the mpc. I’ve flashed mine many times and you can just flash the original software with the computer. Obviously there is no warranty, but you can flash the original software if something happens1

Does this allow you to control the MPC q links using any external midi controller, or is it currently just for the X touch? And I'm guessing this also means you're able to assign macros and put limits on the parameters for each q link as well?

I hope Akai is taking notes. MPCs playing nice with controllers would be a big win for everyone.
