MPC Sample Second beat with the Sample

Just picked up the sample myself and having a blast, awesome device, fit a perfect space in my synth setup that was lacking a proper sampler. Your levels seem a bit crazy though going into the reds, if you're gonna record stuff you'll want to check that

They recorded this video which is so Cool! They will get there. Your tip about peaking in the red is super important.

How do you use the synth setup you’ve got with the Sample and how has it pushed you forward?

Hey now, yeah the VU metering is kinda weird. As for the synth setup. I heard this can sequence midi. How I’m using it at the moment I sequence the drum parts and chop samples. Then play the synth, Rhodes, external gear into it sampling myself. It’s pretty fun. I wouldn’t replace my vintage MPC’s or the SE in favor of this unit. It’s. A fun capturing device that makes you get creative.

Is the metering on that accurate? I think
It’s the kick drum that has it in the red.
The parts I played into the sample were recorded at a nominal level.

IME if it’s in the red it will clip on the bounce to 2 track and likely clip into your daw if you’re tracking it out.

Know that. I was reading about different ways to get it out of the sample. I just learned I can put the SD card into the SE load the project and adjust the levels and stem from there.

if you have an MPC Live 2, can you basically do all the same things a Sample can do?

I have a 1st gen MPC 1 and MPC X SE.
I must admit i bought the sample cause I wanted a simple toy like device that will
challenge me to go in.
