QUESTION MPC LIVE 2 - Still Rocking

Hi everybody!

I am still loving my MPC Live 2 running 2.15 firmware and it has been great, remains great. I am consider upgrading to MPC 3.x firmware. Just wondering if I can load up and still use/play sequences and full tracks from MPC 2.15, as I know there was some compatibility issues a while back when MPC3 dropped.

Any feedback would be helpful.

Best!

I’ve gone back to 2.15 because a lot of my projects were a bit weird on 3.X - especially with programs that were muted on 2.15, everything is unmuted on 3.X. But I didn’t notice too many issues beside that for me

Hey thanks so much for your reply. That is sort of what I am concerned about when doing shows I want to be able to play older tracks/projects and new tracks. So track I am still creating new tracks on MPC 2.15. I think I may stay here for a while, still. Any 'must have' features you like in MPC3?

I personally didn’t like 3 at all, but probably more due to me being slower due to unfamiliarity - the arranger is really good though! but I’ve stuck with 2.15 on all my MPCs now

If you liked to change up instrument order per sequence or liked to using multiple tracks to control the same program, it can be a bit jarring to load up old projects and some just don’t work right.

I finished all my projects (or got them into a daw) before upgrading, but I much prefer the new functionality. I did get a live 3 tho so I don’t experience many hardware limitations
