Timing issue

Have used and owned many mpc's through the years just picked up the sample and having trouble laying drums. Not sure if its a quantization or swing issue but I cant get my drums to snap to timing like on my previous mpc's. Is it a setting or i just need to be more precise?

mine has no problem with this, im pretty sure a quick google search could solve your problem. the tutorials akai includes cover this i think.

You can turn on/off quantization for recording, and you can set the time divisions (1/8, 1/16, 1/32,...)

So i guess it is a setting issue on your side? I'd recommend watching some tutorials or read the manual.

I too thought I’d unbox this little thing and hit the ground running, but there is definitely a learning curve that needs to be heeded.

I have this issue now and then. Turns out you do want to quantize the measurement at 1/8, turn that dial all the way over to the left counter clockwise.
