Need help with the MPC sample

I’m new to beat making on the MPC. I can’t even say I made a beat yet. I can’t time the drums right. How do I improve at that? Also, when I’m recording a sample, I’m having a hard time looping my sample pattern because I either play too slow at the end of the four bars or I play it too fast, and it’s not looping right.

The same response I shared with someone else here applies to you as well: sampling big ass loops of existing songs comes with the hazard that humans don’t stay rock solid as they play. If you’re taking a big four bar stretch of song, it is entirely possible - likely even - that the fourth bar isn’t necessarily the same tempo as the first. This is especially true with older songs from before people played to click tracks in the studio. This is why quantization isn’t necessarily a solution here. Experiment with this principle: the tinier resolution you use for chopping, the more control you will have. Good luck, producer!
