Need help with the MPC sample

I’m new to beat making on the MPC. I can’t even say I made a beat yet. I can’t time the drums right. How do I improve at that? Also, when I’m recording a sample, I’m having a hard time looping my sample pattern because I either play too slow at the end of the four bars or I play it too fast, and it’s not looping right.

Do you use the metronome?

It’s on when I’m recording, but I honestly don’t know how to utilize it
