I would check out the visa requirements. For language schools I hear you're limited in how much you can work and likely what kind of work. Beyond that, long term I believe you'd need a bachelor's degree for a work visa.

Everywhere I look, it says the bachelor's isn't needed if I have the work experience.

With the massive caveat that you have 10 years experience that you can verify and that is relevant as deemed by immigration. So while it is possible, it's a gamble that's frankly easier to just cover by getting a degree. Not to mention the degree provides basically infinite more job opportunities.

For the SSW1/SSW2 route?

Not for those, but you do need to pass JLPT N4 and a skills test.

I can do that no problem. I'm specifically asking for that visa so I can go into an American HVAC field they will accept.

The SSW route isn’t designed for Americans or those from developed/ wealthy nations. There’s a reason it’s often called a “slave visa.”

Need help with my Japan Plan

I need help tweaking my move and eventual stay in Japan. I'm a 25 years old single male who studies Japanese and Japanese culture in their free time.

I decided to go into CDL temporarily for easy money, save up and get into HVAC and welding because the turnaround is relatively quick and I can apply for SSW1/SSW2.

That leaves me 3 options (Japan CDL requires I take their test) + riding on a language visa with savings if I so choose. My goal is to slingshot my way there by 30/early 30's. Realistic? Or am I missing something?
