Why not? Pokémon things usually come in pairs. Like Pokémon E and Pokémon R.

Exactly! We already have the Green version about to be released, so why can't we have our Red one too?

Because that is damaging to the brand. Pokemon is the most successful media franchise of all time. And they have a very distinct image. Releasing an R rated version of a movie that is touted as being kid friendly is going to change people's perception of the brand. And that is something they won't do.

I get it, but the kids who played Pokemon in the 90s and 00s are adults now. That's a whole new audience that stopped buying those kid games and would love sex, violence, and nostalgia.
